Sweet swet news. This has been my argument all along. If R* used a pre-developed engine like UR3 then imagine all the extra time they could spend on game play and content instead of developing a whole new engine? It is the greatest news I have heard in a long time if they do decide to use it for GTA.

I can see the scandals now... Hillary and Mr. Thompson are probably so excited too! Hot Coffee II: Sins of the Coffee stain.

  4. you people need to stop hyping this issue of GTA using Unreal Engine 3, they never said that they would use it, and to be honest, i doubt it would work. I can understand a small game where the CPU can load the different rooms etc. like Metal Gear Solid , but a game like GTA would take up way too much space. I think the maximum we can hope for is Half Life 2 graphics for GTA, but even that would be dreaming...

I think they could do some remarkable things with it.
    Less invasions, more equations!

  6. hmm maybe Midnight Club 4 could use the engine.

Well, Epic were asked what game they would really like to see the Unreal 3.0 engine running and the answer they gave was GTA, they reckoned they could do some amazing things with GTA. Before that I would have thought of it being an engine more suited to games that have a smaller scope, but I'll trust Epic to know more about their engine then I do.

Edit: Hmmm, looks like it GTA won't use the Unreal 3.0 engine.
