Mario BrosA recent poll of X-bit Labs’ readers revealed nearly equal interest in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Out of 1500 polled (mostly English-speaking), 23% planned to purchase a PS3, while 20% were going to buy an Xbox 360. A dismal 5% expressed interest in purchasing a Nintendo Revolution. Perhaps the most interesting figure however, is the 46% of respondents that reported no interest in adding a next-gen console to their collections. If this is the case with the consumer gaming market at-large, then there’s a lot of room for any or all of the console developers to gain serious ground.
Its interesting to note that once again (2nd poll in 3 days) a signifficant number of Xbox readers/fans still consider the PS3 as thier next system and this time the gap between the two preffered systems is even more narrow.
Even more interesting is that almost half (~750 people) havent decided or are not interested in next gen systems. Maybe too much hype? or maybe not enough?
I have already pointed that out but I still think the next-gen is coming a litlle to early.Even more interesting is that almost half (~750 people) havent decided or are not interested in next gen systems. Maybe too much hype? or maybe not enough?
Duga X-Bit Labs isn't an XBox site, or even remotely related; it's a tech site and one I highly recommend to boot!Originally Posted by duga10

Did you already post this?...if so full credit to you.
its the opposite for me. I say if the leap in performance is really as big as the companies are tauting then bring it on. (although somehow i get the impression that all they really want is my moneyI still think the next-gen is coming a litlle to early)
EDIT
My bad, i guess i had a nasty case of the X-factor (its a disease where everything that contains an x is somehow related to the Xbox)Duga X-Bit Labs isn't an XBox site, or even remotely related; it's a tech site and one I highly recommend to boot!
eg. Xzibit, XXX movies, XXL clothing, superbowl XXXVII. The only known cure is a dose of a PS2 :aim:
Love to see competition, both MS's and Sony's strategy is excellent. A much closer marketshare this gen will only contribute to the consumers (thats right us gamers). I say let them battle it out tooth and nail while the public sits back and reaps its just rewads.
that 46% will go towards Nintendo after they full discuss their console
I won't go into predictions but I do think polls at this moment are rather lame and give an incredible bias against Nintendo simply due to the lack of available information.
In a vacuum in which Microsoft and Sony don't announce or flesh out their own consoles? Yes.Originally Posted by OutlawAdidas
In reality? No. The 46% will probably be split amongst the three as all three get their features and games set in stone.

This poll has nothing to do with the average demographics of the gaming world, nor what console they want.![]()

Ah, well then, I take back what I said. If this was on a gaming site, say...IGN, then apply what I said to a poll they made there.
Of course tech sites wouldn't be attracted or interested in Nintendo's consoles after they've said that they weren't going for ultra-performance, not to mention little has been revealed. BTW, I can't wait for AMD's quad core processors.
