    lol
seeing as first party games from Nintendo are 4800 yen the games are cheap aswell IF this is true
the only sad thing is that they list the release date as 23 december.

  4. what  :?: Christmas  :?:
would that possibly be a X'mas version :?:

  5. They also list Gran Turismo 4 Mobile (Sony, Yen 5.040) to be released on 23.01.05. That's not happening.

"And the PSP version, GT4 mobile won't hit the unit until April 2005. There, we heard it from the man directly, no more wondering."
    Source: IGN

  6. Yeah, that GT Mobile date is VERY strange (if not impossible).
    Too bad.

Someone needs to mock up some price sheets like the PSP covers in the other thread, then post the stuff at a DS forum

  8. Some parts are believable, but GT4 as a launch title really isn't.

And let's all hope that PSP's launch date isn't the 23rd...... :? unless, of course, as predicted by a Sony offical previously, that PSP got delayed because the developers with launch titles needed a couple of weeks to finish the game. But even so, I'm in awe, really hoping that this rumor is BS.

Sounds Believable to me... In fact, this is 100% what I was expecting.
Also, althought he price translates Directly to 249.99 USD for system and 49.99 for games, its more likely we'll see it as 199.99 for system and 39.99 range for games, because stuff is cheaper here.

Some countries use a dot(.) instead of a comma(,). Dunno why, I guess it has to do with traditions and cultural conventions.

And yes, it is five thousand five hundred yen. (I mean, Sony wouldn't be so crazy to almost give away PSP, now, would they? -No sarcasm intended)

Hmm... It better be real, 'cause I sure can't find an evidence of this anywhere - except that current week's Newsweek Japan do contain an article about videogames....... (and they don't let people see the articles through the internet... ) And the article seems to be a general article about videogame market in Japan and US, so I really doubt that they have specific prices, accessories, games, etc.

BTW, the quote mentions "newspaper text" (Newsweek is a magazine), and "Nextweeks" (Which no such publication showed up in Google search)...... so perhaps this might be a fake as well.

Because it indicates a decimal point

Cents are called cents for a reason; They are one onehundreth of a dollar. Soooooo, a cent is 1% of a dollar. Just as you would in mathematics to indicate a percentage, we use a decimal point, to avoid the confusion of placing a comma after every three digits for the purposes of simplyifiying the reading of numbers with large amounts of zeros...

    Example: 1,000,000.00 A million bucks

    Example2: 1000000,00 A million... bucks... I think...

It's just easier with the decimal

Of course, I'm somewhat biased in this area

And sorry for the lengthy explanation, but I've explained this to a few people in the past, so I tend to do this ops:
