My other PSP price poll topic disappeared so I have decided to create a new one. Also, my last topic didn't say POLL and I thought that all polls automatically said POLL. This may have something to do with the problem.
Please give your best guess as to how much the PSP will cost.
Things to consider:
1) When refering to the $400 N-Gage, Sony said that the PSP price would be more comparable to the GBA(SP).
2) Many people have estimated the price of the PSP to be very high (some as high as $500 - $600).
3) Sony said that they would initially be losing money on the PSP.
Personally I can't see the price being any less than $150 or any more than $300; however, in my last poll people complained that I didn't give enough choices so this time I will make sure that I do. I also added other so that people won't complain that I didn't put some weird amount like $263.
My best guess is $250.
The N-Gage was $400 in America? It was only $499 in Australia. Which is $356 American.
I'm guessing £250, which would probably be $250.
On the other hand, that price is based on a leaked figure and Phil Harrison's statement ("Closer to £200 than £300") from back when they were going to sell the hardware at profit. Maybe the hardware is just as expensive as they thought, but they'll launch it at a lower price. Or, the hardware was more expensive than they thought to make, and it'll stay at £250, but it becomes a loss.
We'll see. I'd put my lowest guess at £150 but that's extremely unlikely.
I'll put my chip's down on $249.99, black.
I think $250 because that sounds like the right price most people would want to pay for it at launch without making a big loss on each psp sold it might come with a small memory stick for game saves at that price.
I've finaly got a PSTwo! About bloody time too.
i'd also say 249,99€/$Originally Posted by games_ fan
that's a price everybody would pay to get such cool multimedia PS2 that fits in your pocket. it's not too low (if they would make the price lower than this at launch the quality of it could suffer) and not too high that ppl prefer to get a DS because it's so much cheaper.
but for the 250$ i want to get: a battery recharger, the smallest memory stick that i don't have to buy one to save my games and maybe even a USB cable (how much does a USB calbe cost about ?) so i can just get it out of the package at home and instantly put some music or so on it. 8)

I'd be willing to pay upto £250 but i would like it to be £200!

I'm surprised that more people haven't guessed $300.
I don't think that there's a very good chance that it will be as low as $200 and I see almost no possibility of it being $150.
200-250 USD. I voted for $250 though since it seems more likely.
from page 12 in august 2004 issue of PSM (a US mag)
Cost is still undetermined but our sources at several game makers put it at $199 max [ (riiiiite)]
but i think that will be the LOWEST
but since sony said they would be losing money i think that will be the price on release
Im gonna say 150 and hope it is.
face it 150 is way too low for release but at xmas 05 it will be 150 probably
Im standing with $150-$199, and anyone who thinks im crazy for this please give me your aim or msn handle so I can annoy you about how I was right come march
Well i think there is a possibility of it being anything from:
£150-£300 most likly is £200 or £250
I said $250. Although they would lose money even at $400 (according to sony personal from E3) i don't think that they'd be dumb enough to price it at $350 and not make up any of teh money they are losing.
I'll pay £250 for one and I'm sure many others will
But £199 is where I think it will hit. 6 months later £179. Following Christmas £149 and the following Summer £139 and £99 by the next Christmas.
Either way, I'll write a cheque now, you can just put the RRP on it when it comes out
Yeah i will pay £250 but i would like to see it at £200 at launch. ppl have said anything from £150-£400 before but i think £175-£250 myself.
