quarter inch foam core (3 sheets cut out in shape of psp and stacked)
elmers glue (fill in seams, filler to build up cirtan areas)
high gloss art paper (im go to an art school so i just took some for the summer, great stuff, experamenting with paper to make it more stiff and plastic like)
old vcr remote (so the buttons look and feel real to the touch)
high quality PSP screen shot (havn't decided on a pic)
holes and switches(the switch is from the VCR remote, its the on, off, hold. holes so i can plug stuff into it, like a mem, stick or usb cables,)
i need help with the shoulder buttons, what can i use for clear spring back shoulder buttons??? :?:
and i was thinking of lights but i don't really want to go cut up my christmas lights![]()
its the summer and nothing else to do. besides its fun.
also lets me see how big it is in my hands.( it fits great, the anoluge(sp) isn't bad were it is, i thought it would feel weird but it dosn't. the weird thing is that i dont have to hold it with my whole hand just my fingers but it feels sterdy and comfortable!!)
I, for one, would love to see the finished product.
i think its a good idea, much better than jus sitting around wasting time. Doing things like that hone's skills of dexterity and creativity. You'd be surprised where projects like that can be useful experience. Like gettin into medical school building models and sculpture of which you have a visual portfolio of is helpful to get you into medical school. I say do as much as you can, the only waste of time is that used learning nothing and doing nothing.
if we can keep this page open a few weeks, maybe by having other people build model psp's and say were there at and what problems they face we could all show our psp creations here.Originally Posted by Josh
it would be cool to see other peoples models.
you guys already saw my matrials, they mostly everday stuff and foam core is cheap, 1 small sheet should do.
some problems were.
i didn't have an exacto knife so the edges were a bit crumbley, i used elmers glue to polish and fill the holes on the edges, it also gives a nice look. i also didn't have a solution to the shoulder buttons so there not clear plastic, there white foam core.
if you look at the psp it looks like it's built in 3 parts, the face, the middle and the back.
i cut out and put the middle and back togther with a glue stick. i still have to out in the curved handle things on the back but besides paint those two pieces are about done.
i left the face off because tomorrow im going to put on the D-pad and action buttons. and whatever else i can do, but the D-pad and action buttons(tri, cir, squ,X) is my goal.
i'll take a picture after every big stage and post them up when i know how
Just don't get obsessed with it! March is still along way to go bro!![]()
One could only hope.
can you also post pictures of the current state of the model ?i'll take a picture after every big stage and post them up when i know how
