    WTF are Sony doing?

Man I had to write this, Sony have dropped everything from a list of 99 developers to over a 120 games to 50+ appliances, gave us all the specs of the PSP, shown us screenshots and clips of gameplay, movie playback and just about everything you can imagine.

Why are they dishing out everything so soon, by next year we would have heard this stuff so much it wont sound as exciting when the PSP launches...

What are Sony upto, they always release the most exciting details slowly but it seems like theyve dished everything out..

Is there something we dont know about PSP?

  2. I'm thinking that Sony are just trying to expand the fan base, and keep them in suspense. Also, remember that they started releasing all this information when they still planned on having a 2004 launch. I doubt anything too big will be unvieled...

  5. I'm guessing there hideing the microwave.................

Yeah they need something to make people turn around and run to the stores, what do you guys think it could be?

A lot of the games shown at E3 were tentative, so perhaps some of the developers just couldn't work with the PSP? I don't know.....

At the very least its damn confusing, maybe theyr going to market it in a whole new way or maybe they have something crazy up theyr sleeves, besides nobody said the PSP was finalized so maybe the architecture, or design will change.

There's nothing to say that they can't sign up more developers at a later date, right?

99 developers, id be surprised if they could find more developers on the planet but nope they could still add more to the list and I think theyd be happy to do that.

Well there's hundred of developers, though they've pretty much got all the major companies already.

Man theyve got a few weird companies nobodies heard off and new comers with weird titled games :?

Sometimes the ones you're never heard of come up with the amazing titles. Everyone has to start somewhere.

  14. maybe it can control the weather?

  15. Nadda...

This thing will be announced to virtually guide missiles into key targets in Iraq. Pop in the trusty "Flight Simulator" and you've got yourself a machine that lets the average American kick some Kamikaze'd Iraqi to smitherenes!

  16. I dont think releasing exciting information earlier harms the psp in any way. People will be more informed about the product before release assuring maximum buyers. The same people who were excited by the tech specs will buy the psp because its going to be a good product not because its exciting.

  17. Im not sure how that works, they'll buy it coz its good not that its exciting?

Yeah thats interesting, will the idiots stop making stupid comments trying to make everybody laugh and actually contribute to the thread with some intelligent comments

  19. IF the psp still has something what amazing things could the ds have?

Well Sony always think ahead, I mean nobody expected PS2 to be pushing CG and photo-realistic graphics but thats exactly what is happening in games like Ace Combat 5 and Gran Turismo 4 and theres even a rumor that states Killzone will be pushing 4500 polygons per character!!!

Can you imagine that? thats like a little less than half as many as Unreal 3 is pushing, thatll be crazy if its true!

I dont know what Sony have planned for the PSP but I know Sony always have a way of shocking fans, they deliberately made the PS2 hard to program for so as the devs get better at making games on PS2 the graphics get better, this gives the fans something to look forward to, Whats the point of buying GT4 if it looks identical to GT3?

Thats the problem with XBox, Halo 1 is identical to Halo 2 so you wont have better graphics, thats a BIG turn off.

Nintendo probably didnt think ahead like Sony and set something up but im sure Sony are going to surprise us by something.
