I use a standard AV cable but i might get an S-video beacause of the inproved picture and i belive it is the best one around..
Component is better than S-Video. Dont get me wrong S-Video is good, Component is better!Originally Posted by ultimategamer2004
Well now, unfortunately not all of us can afford an HDTV, so I use the S-VIDEO connection. Definitely makes all the difference.
componet can be used on ANY HDTV be it plasma LCD CRT or projection and if you never played GT3 on a HDTV with componet than you dont know what your missing! serrously begg borrow steal or put in some overtime HDTV changes the way you veiw games... pun intended![]()
Doesnt even have to be an HDTV to have component inputs! A lot of the newer CRT based TVs that have a flat screen have components inputs, including ones with 4:3 aspect ratio!
How much does a component cable cost?
Actually, the best image quality is obtained by a RBG input, unfortunally there are no RGB TV's in my country :? , if your TV have a scart input dont hesitate to buy scart cable for PS2.. its amazing the difference...

Read my above post. CRT TVs can have component inputs too!Originally Posted by NickSCFC
I currently use the standard SCART lead (Red, Yellow and White). But after noticing the quality difference between the regular and RGB SCART, I'll be getting RGB as soon as I can.
Which connection is best for normal run of the mill TV sets can RGB be fitted to any TV or not.
It all depends on what ports you have on the back of your TV. If you have a small round port, then you will be using composite (at least I think it's called composite anyway). If you have an almost rectangular port, then that will be SCART.
The PS2 comes with a standard SCART lead, which comes with red, yellow and white leads. The RGB lead is the same idea, except the leads are red, green and blue. I don't know all the technical stuff about the difference, but the picture quality with RGB is a lot better.
