Yea
Not really..
Today Sony called me up (I'm a member of the beta testing people at their site) and they asked me to take a survey, it was pretty repetitive and boring up until a point which the person asked the question "Which of these future PS2 functions do you find most important to you? 1-10, 1 meaning not very important and 10 meaning very important." I was now interested in this near complete waste of 15 minutes of my life. She started to list features, some I already knew of and others I didn't. Here are some of the features that were listed:
- Sending game saves over the internet
Video conferencing
Playing movies (mpeg) on your PS2
Customizable playlists of music
Streamable music and movies (mp4 and mpeg)
Downloadable content
Uploading pictures onto the internet
Sending E-mail
One user name for multiple games(gamespy??)
That was about all she said and I decided to make this post to let you people know about this stuff because I'm pretty sure that some of it is new news (well, new news to me anyways).
Unfortunately, right after she finished asking me about the future features and their importance to me she went back to boring as hell questions so no other interesting information about the phone survey

Video conferencing and E-mail would be the most important features for me.
Downloadable Content![]()

(I can do all that on my computer.) Yeah, Sony is ripping off Nintendo with the whole PSP-PS2 Connectivity, and that's fine with me - now we have it too. If Sony gave a huge nod to Microsoft by adopting the Downloadable Content idea, I see no problem with that either. Hahaha, yeah, it's not very original, but it's beneficial for us. :POriginally Posted by Omega Blue
I like the idea of downloadable content, just as long as we don't end up having to pay for stuff like Xbox Live users. Microsoft charged $10 or something like that for a new golf course on Links 2004 (or whatever it was called).
Emails and video-conferencing would be pretty cool too, if they pulled it off well.
i dont think that sony will start to chrage money for downloadable content because then it will lose its edge on the online gaming industry right now i think there is someting like 2.5 million network adpators sold to xbox 50000 last time i checked
They did state that, but me thinkst that they are counting the Network Adapters included in the PS2's online bundle which, in my oppinion, is sort of cheating. Because not everyone who has a PS2 Network Adapter that came with the PS2 is able, or willing for that matter to play online.Originally Posted by GT4 RULZ

man klawhammer u are missing out on alot of action and cool stuff
The Network Adaptor over here had already gone down in price by £10 over here.
Hrmm, what does that equal in US Dollars? Because the Network Adapter (unfortunately) still holds the price of $40 over here. I guess that's because us Americans will get more games that support it and that means more demand for it. Downloadable content would be nice but I see playing the movies and sending game saves as more important. I have a dream (and i'm white, imagine that) that I could set up a little online group that makes Tenchu II maps and another that would make RPG Maker II games. Doing that seems like it would be awesome to me.

At the going rate, £20 is $36.
