At first glance, most people will read that and go "My god, is that man made of money or just freaking addicted to video games??" but then if you think about it, you realise all of the functions it has, Portable console that's backlit, PDA, Movie Player, MP3 Player, Radio tuner and Television Viewer, hell even camera and phone attachments are being made for the thing. My point is, all of these devices are useful, individually or combined, and to get all of them in one incredibly nice device, it is like god descended from the heavens and sayed "Let there be integration!" and sony seems to be one of the few people that heard the message. With all these functions i wouldn't mind paying $500 (extensions/expansions/devices and all) for it. I would much much rather spend my money on the PSP than another nintendo console that is ill-fated. This will be the most successful thing that sony will make for a couple of years to come, and it will be good.

To me, the PSP is definitely worth $300, but to the majority of gamers the answer is no. I will be using this as an MP3 player and portable movie player as well as a gaming machine. But while I will be more than willing to shell out $300, not everyone can say that. Sony's main competition is definitely Nintendo and no matter how many more features the PSP has, the price has got to be releatively close for any type of sucess.
Way too expensive!!! Didn't Sony said that the price will be similar to the GBA. I think it will be $200 max.
Yeah. I'm thinking max $200 but more like $150.Originally Posted by Swordmaster Jehuty

Far far too expensive. I already have an iPod and an Oylmpus D520.
With all of the features that they're supposed to be putting in the PSP, I'd say it's definately worth £300. Whether or not it'll actually be that price is another matter. If they're going to try and compete with what I guess will be the GBA II by the time the PSP is released, it would be a bit cheaper.

Nintendo will not release any information about the next gameboy or gamecube until a conference in spring. But they are working on another gameboy.

you mean $300USD thats way too much about $400CND, you can buy a car for that much (not a good one, but still).
I don't think I could shell out that much money even if SONY makes it. I mean I already have a PDA with super nintendo emulator and cell phone with email.
I would buy it if it was $200CND/$150USD but no more.
*shrugs* Every budget has it's limits...

It will probably be lower than that but still, the PSP is worth the money.
Look at the N-gage, costs 300$ with ugly graphics, sucky real media player, no UMD!!, need to hold the phone on it's side to telephone; all combined it makes up for 1 shity machine that can't do shit.
The PSP is defenatly worth 300$ only Sony is smart enough to sell it at a very reasonable price.

Depends on the person if they're useful or not. And I hope god didnt do that.My point is, all of these devices are useful, individually or combined, and to get all of them in one incredibly nice device, it is like god descended from the heavens and sayed "Let there be integration!" and sony seems to be one of the few people that heard the message.
Atleast we know some people will buy anything without even trying it first. With all these functions i wouldn't mind paying $500 (extensions/expansions/devices and all) for it.
Any info you have on the PSP is its Official Spec. and a prototype. And as far as I knew, the GBA (which is a portable console) is one of the highest selling pieces of hardware in the market.I would much much rather spend my money on the PSP than another nintendo console that is ill-fated.
I sure hope so.This will be the most successful thing that sony will make for a couple of years to come, and it will be good.

I meant that I wouldn't mind paying $500 for all the attachments if they worked well and if the cell phone one came with a month or so of free service. (Needs a cell phone..and a camera...and a pda..)
