I heard that Microsoft are holding out in order to make a console better than PS3 by taking the technologies once realesed.

Don't worry man, people will soon realize that XBOX:2 will be a rip-off. I am not a fanboy of any console but i'm just stating opinion. PS2 can be improved deeply, but i see no extreme method of a way to improve the XBOX. It's a perfect system -as i hear- It already has the whole lot. If i was Microsoft now, i would stay with Xbox. If i was with Sony i would never have come up with Playstation turning portoble. It a waste of money. Let Nintendo have something to do.

I think that patents would stop that from happening.

I think the Microsoft bastards are gonna do everything in their power to make their system a likeness of the PS3...But why wouldn't they? Sony has been kickin ass and takin names since day one...

r u guys serious? just cuz microsoft isnt a media whore like sony doesnt mean they dont have their own technology under wraps, that could very well be better than PS3.

I suppose you think you're gonna tell me Sony hasn't been dominating...Riiiight...Sony has a much stronger industry backing *media whores or not* and an amzing fan following...So as far as next gen consoles are concerned, Sony is gonna threepeat...

i never said that i didn't like PS2. I only have a PS2 and I'll probably only buy a PS3...but that's beyond the point. I'm just sayin that everyone's acting like a fanboy because ya'll dont even know anything about the other two consoles, yet you already shit on them. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves.

For real, some people are ridiculous...the actual thought of anyone using the same technology as PS3 pisses some of you off...like you work for sony or something. It's like most people here want sony to completely blow the other two consoles out of the water, when a monopoly would be the worst thing for the gaming industry.

yes fanboys, fanboys, fanboys. I admittedly am a Sony fan, but I do like Gamecube and... OK, not X-Box, but I do like DOA3 and Halo.
bashing systems is actually fun, if you do it in a mildly civilized manner (no cussing, no threatening to kill people, etc., etc.) I have found everybody loves bashing.
blind (i.e. hear that X Box is the best and believe it) X-Box fanboys like bashing PS2.
non-blind (i.e. found out that X-Box is best for them, or own all systems) X-Box fanboys and everyone else loves bashing X-Box (actually 4 of my friends and I were bashing X-Box while playing Halo(2 of them own an X-Box))

yup my uncle has a Ps2 and an X-Box not to mention most of the X-Box users i know i only have a Ps2

A ps2 is the only system you need with a pc.
The ps2 for the games and the pc for the games that come on x-box and that you may like.

Getting back on topic, Microsoft is not trying to steal Sony's technology. They are using a different IBM chipset for their console, and are even customizing it. They just realize, as Sony and Nintendo before them, that IBM has a great product.

Well its true, microsoft doesnt necessarily steal tech from sony but it does steal tech and design from other manufacturers, one being sega.The xbox controller is modeled on the dreamcast memcard slots n' all.[/u]

Sony Will patent the technology, and if Microsoft tries to snag their tech, they will probably be sued bigtime. Don't think they will steal Sony's tech, they have their own, better or worse I don't know, but it will be damn interesting when both consoles launches... Oh, and don't 4get the N5 or what's it's name.. :?:

They wont steal the exact designs of ps3, noooo, they'll alter it the smallest way to make it legal, and they can always call in reinforcements with their army of lawyers. Also sony is using IBMs chipset and like you said, Microsoft is going to use it.. doesn't that tell you anything? I can see it right now, xbox 2 releases 6 months after ps3, they'll do anything for a userbase. And for the guy who said one console would be bad for the industry, you are incorrect, for example if you eliminate xbox from the equation than the PS2 and GC bring in more developers and better games because of it, but since theres 3 consoles and Microsofts little developer shopping spree it went on a year ago than it deprives all 3 consoles of great games. Less consoles mean greater games and it means less money you have to shell out for consoles and accessories. Call me a fanboy or whatever, if thats your comeback for something so right you wont admit it than so be it. But wake up people, the way Microsoft jumped in and is slowly killing our beloved Nintendo is wrong. It's making fools of the gaming industry. They better make a xbox 2, because if they don't than all they did was annoy Sony and take a chunk out of Nintendo.
