It is time to reveal the true Revolution, guys. First off, lets start with the specs. They have been finalized.
IBM G5 Custom 3.0ghz
ATI RN520 (duel-core)
AGEIA Custom PPU
1GB DRAM
And, Nintendo will use a new DVD format (that can’t be copied by any DVD burner), which is developed by Panasonic. It will hold 6GB.
My source says that Nintendo was waiting to finalize until they saw what they needed. Not only of what Sony/MS had, but if they couldn’t get a PPU they would need the extra power. Since they were able to obtain PPU’s (the problem came in to if the company would be able to supply a custom PPU in time for the Revolution launch, since negotiations started late last year. What took so long? My source didn’t say), they no longer need the extra horse power, and it will allow for the Revolution to be even smaller then planned (it was planned to be a few cm’s thicker then the PS2 Slim. Now it will be the same size).
Now on to the controller. Pressure sensitive buttons and grips will be used. The buttons are self-explanatory, but I’ll explain how Nintendo and many developers are planning to use this feature. They will use it as a true ‘acceleration’ button, or a standard button like we have now. When you press harder, the character in the game will go faster. (Weather it’s a horse, car, plane – or some other means of transportation depends on the developer. Nintendo even has a game planned that, to run, you have to press this button. The harder you push, that faster you run.)
But what about the pressure sensitive grips – couldn’t this get annoying? What if you press harder when you don’t want to? Well, before I will tell you how Nintendo plans to use this feature, I’ll explain how it works. When you press harder on the controller, the grips will send the signal to the Revolution. The Revolution will then see if that command is necessary. How, you ask? Easy. The only times this feature will be used – or, at least, for now – is when you are being told to press harder, or when you are in a sword fight.
Now lets talk functionality. How this will be used. Nintendo plans to use this feature in a Zelda game, which will launch six months after the Revolution (it is currently untitled). Like the GCN controller, you will have two joysticks. In this Zelda game, you will have even more control over your sword. With joystick number 2 (not the one used to move Link), you can control your sword movements. Not so radical, you say? Get this. When you fight, you can lose control over your sword. If your grip loosens on the controller, Link’s grip on his sword will loosen up as well. This adds a whole new level of gameplay.
Gyroscopes will be used in the controller, in addition to the pressure sensitive buttons/grips. This can be used in any shape or form, whatever the developer comes up with. At this time, my source doesn’t know if any developer plans to use this feature or not. He does know, though, that many are interested in it.
But all of this stuff has been on the Internet. I just gave you a new twist on one of them right? Wrong. Here is the big secret, which will make the controller groundbreaking. By adding certain packs of chemicals in the controller, you can actually smell what’s in the game. Now I know you will think, ‘Smell-a-vision!’ and say it is so gimmicky. But listen, this will define gameplay in the Revolution. How, you ask? Think First Person Shooter. You are going around, and you smell something weird. You don’t know what it is, but it makes you look around. You soon discover that a gas has been released into the atmosphere, and that you must put on your gas mask. Isn’t that freaking awesome? Retro Studios is using that, in a first person shooter that they are developing. Capcom is using this feature in a new horror; currently title ‘Redemption’. The name is a working title, but it is a spin-off of the Resident Evil series. But, instead of dealing with zombies like most Resident Evil games do, it will have ghosts. And, when you smell certain smell, you know a ghost is around. The actual story line of the game is unknown to me, but the title suggests (to me) that a ghost, or someone, will seek ‘redemption’ at some point in the game.
Now that I have revealed all that I know, lets talk if this sucker is true. Before I reveal my source, I must tell you what Fallax means in Latin. It simply means ‘False’ (check it out at: http://catholic.archives.nd.edu/cgi-...down.pl?false). And, just like my name, this information and every prophecy I have made, including this one, was just for your reading pleasure, and to attempt a psychology experiment. I wanted to see how easy it is to get people to believe something, and see how far I must go to get people to believe me. It seems, some of you are harder to crack – and some of you are impossible. It was fun while it lasted, but it must last no longer.
With that said, re-read over this post. Or just think about it. All the things I have mentioned, including the smell thing – will be incredible, would it not? Lets hope I am right. Lets hope.

All was fine until the smelling bit. Packs of chemicals?!?Look at any Nintendo game and you will see a whole list of warnings and precautions. Chemicals and Nintendo do not mix.
As for the other things: The only bit I found hard to swallow was the PPU and 1GB of DRAM. That will surely push the price of the console up. AFAIK, not something N wants.
They can't do smell for a few reasons but the biggest is legal medical liability. The chemicals used create specific smells have been known to be allergenic. Some are even toxic.
Another is the potential for smelling bad to some and would turn some gamers away from that game and many future titles.
What happens when your controller runs out of the chemical?
Limited combinations from 3 or 4 base smells.

The gyroscopic and pressure sensitive grip theories I've always liked. They are both possible and very intuitive. I do believe both are coming.

As for the psychological experiment, it has a current design flaw at the moment in that there are so many 'false' reports coming out now that to read another report gives automatic suspectability and that undermines your experiment.
Banter. The chit chat like talk such as the PPU negotiations taking so long are not natural in their context. If you pay careful attention to the banter, you can tell when someone is writing facts and when someone is making them up. I've also taken some psychology, *wink*.
my controllers smell like masturbation
LOL, I love these kids that make it their living to sit on forums and act like random info. brokers to fanboys that populate various communities.Originally Posted by Fallax
But even that statement right there is ridiculous. Capcom's president just said not even they know what the Revolution is all about.

Nice one... all I can type is..
L O L
yeah and replacing the chemicals, i won't bother
I knew it.
with the zelda idea. it would have been better to incorporate the gyro with the grip. instead of using the second analogue stick you would instead flick or swing the controller around depending on how strong you want links attack to be. holding tight onto the grips will result in Link still holding the weapon and you still holding the controller.
smelling? yea right
no matter what, the pressure sensitive bits for sword fighing will be incredible.
Sure...Il go to bed with you, but dont tell my girlfriend....She might tell my wife
I'd imagine he control would change from Fallax's to Generosity's depending if you had Links sword or the big goron sword.
I know! Maybe Nintendo is making a real life Evangelion. How is this going to revolutionise gaming? Prrrft WHO CARES, I WANT AN EVA DAMMIT!!
I'd still like to have the use of smelling on the Revolution.
That was fun Fallax.
Haha! I told you that you were fake!
In fact, back when you originally posted I was going to mention that your name meant false in Latin, but I figured that would be a nowhere argument.
Now don't you all feel stupid for telling me to shut up when I was pointing out his inconsistancies?
