I've always wondered if you the Rev is also "portable" meaning you can bring it around in places, especially to wireless hotspots... you could probably connect it to your laptop and use its screen to play games.
The Rev is only 3 DVD cases thick, and that's awfully small. That gives you an idea that you can put the rev on your bag or briefcase or along with your laptop bag.. the controllers might be a bit bulky but being wireless, you dont have to worry about cords getting tied up or something... you could probably hook it up on those portable dvd players (with screens of course) via a/v inputs (I know some have) There are also rumors that the Rev's stand also serves as a charging bay or power dock or something.. should that be true, then we have ourselves a portable and console in one. The GC has a handle and Nintendo stated that handle was made for a purpose - to have it easily carried around. The Rev must also adapt that idea of mobility as well. I dont know but I have this feeling that the Rev is also made for people on the go but not always on the road.
What do you guys think?
it could be possible.
it has USB ports (it does doesnt it?). they should make it possible to connect it to a laptop through USB to use as a screen and power supply. only question is how long will the laptop battery last in this kind of situation? if its runs for a long time then i can see myself playing Rev on long train trips. anyway the trains i catch have power points for each seat and i could just plug in the laptop.
True indeed. The Rev favors people who live in small condo units or on tightly popoulated places as well, where there are too many stuff to fit in such small space. I know in Japan there are situations that are exactly like this. If the Rev is really power efficient then it can also be a good mobile console... and playing old games wont probably consume much power since you're using the flash memory, therefore no power is consumed for its disc drive. I just hope they also capitalize on this one too.
it would be cool if they da solar panel for the rev...

Thats why we have a DS. I'd love to have a Revolution with its own monitor and battery pack and be carryable around with you like a laptop to wifi hotspots, but money comes short. I'm not even that desperate for a laptop. The option is possible.
Yes, something like this is indeed possible. Remember, one of Nintendo's early statements (waaaaaaay before E3) about the Revolution was that it could be connected to a PC-screen aswell, so maybe laptops (I'm aware that they're not only screens) are compatible with the Revolution aswell.
if it does it means i can have a rev when i go to uni.. i wont have a tv tho...
Sure...Il go to bed with you, but dont tell my girlfriend....She might tell my wife
I wouldn't mind running my Revolution on my iMac's screen, but it'd need some store of special video input. Otherwise, VGA is the way to go. It's so old and generic now. But hey...it works.Originally Posted by MicVlaD
Portability seems to be one concept that Nintendo has in mind with Revolution. They've told and shown us that it's already small, and expressed interest in making the final form even smaller and lighter still. Coupled with the controllers being wireless, there really shouldn't be much to taking it with us to wherever we want to take it. I wonder if and how that might work into Nintendo's plans for Revolution being revolutionary.
