    Viewtiful Joe Scratch DS

    From GCH
Further details on Viewtiful Joe: Scratch for the Nintendo DS have been revealed through Famitsu. Before we even begin to divulge the details, we'd like to thank GameSpot, for the translation. So, Viewtiful Joe: Scratch, takes place in a large theme park, where Captain Blue is shooting his next movie. Somehow, a mysterious syndicate named Madou shows up, and steals the film right out from under everyone's noses. So of course, Joe steps in, to get the film back.

The game itself, which will still be a side-scroller as the other games in the series, will be using the bottom screen of the Nintendo DS for the actual gameplay, and the top screen, to zoom in on Joe, or let gamers know where they should use the touch features of the game. What exactly are the touch features of the game? As you guessed, the touch-screen will be used for executing several movies, including "Split VFX", which is performed by touching in a horizantal line across the screen. Furthermore, the touch-panel will be used to solve certain puzzles. Scratch will also introduce Joe's little sister, Jasmine, as a new character to the series.

i wanna see actual gameplay footage

I can't view it cuz I'm in school right now and the stupid comps block out game websites. I hope thats not the first peek of VJ DS though. cuz they blurred it on purpose. Don't want to give anything away

  11. This game just shot up to the top of my most wanted list. I can't wait now.

It looks JUST like the GC version. I like that.

I like the concept. If the game is really good then I hope it sets a standard on how to reward players in other games.

the DS is very good with cel-shading, quite amazing

This just might make me get a DS

  19. Man, it may be a little more pixilated than the new GCN and PSP Viewtiful Joes, but Scratch is one of the best looking DS games so far. I'm very impressed by the systems cell-shading capabilities.

The viewtiful joe games were recognized for their innovation, and the DS is the perfect platform to keep the series moving forward. I just hope Capcom takes full advantage of it.

I'm not nearly as excited about a VJ fighting game, though. Meh.
