I was thinking about buying The Urbz for GameCube. I played the DS version all the way through, and I really liked it, so I'm thinking about getting the GC version.
Is it worth it? Is it storybased like the DS version is?
I thought the sims for DS was pretty kewl, i dont see how it wouldnt be that bad for gamecube thought i really wouldnt buy that game, i would buy like "SF assult" or somthing like that. but thats just what i would do, do what you want
I rented it for the weekend.
So far, it really isn't a bad game. I wouldn't exactly give it the 5.0 that one of EGM's reviewers gave it. I'd give it about a 7.5 or 8. It does take away from the Sims franchise, though.
Well, I didn't read the full review of it, it was just one of the outlining points in the Reviews Archive section in the back of each issue. If I find the issue in which the review is I'll read it and maybe summarize it up so you'll have some info. So I could see why the 5.0 reviewer gave it that score. But I do know they gave the DS Urbz great scores.
Well first of all I really liked the The Urbz: Sims in the City for DS I thought it was well thought out I only wish they had used more of the DS capabilities especially in the graphics area. Now The Urbz for Gamecube, if it anything like the DS version I would definitly pick it up. THe only problem I think I would have with it is the city being too large and not being able to reach a bathroom or something of the sorts in time. Thats really the only reason why I wouldn't pick it up though.
I'm going to write an actual review for you guys, even though most of you probably won't care, since it isn't a really big game. I'm going to work on that later on, but for now, here's my thoughts on good things and bad things:
-Different Storyline than DS version
-Minigames give a challenge
-You can't actually "move" your character-- it's like moving your character in other Sims games.
-You don't actually get to walk the whole city; it's split into segments and you have to "ride the subway" to get to each one.
Overall, I'm more impressed than not, but, I'll write a review with my full thoughts later on.
