According to gamesindustry.biz, Nintendo is expected to announce last weeks sales of the Nintendo DS today, as it sold over 90% of the retail stock last week alone.* Stores across the country are reported to be sold out of the handheld, which could lead to disappointed gamers across the nation.
On a happy note, the Seattle Times reported that the GameBoy Advance SP also sold well over 800,000 units, making last week the highest selling week for handhelds in history.

quite impressive, although i wonder if some of those SP's were bought by people thinking they were DS's.

I wouldn't doubt it. People are dumb.

Good solid numbers. Nintendo is kicking themselves in the ass I bet you. Remember back in January when the didn't anticipate much demand at all? Imagine if they had all this time. This could have been even higher.
That's a really high ammount, Nintendo have done really well.
Oh no doubt, someting tells me so see Nintendo's sales predictions for 05 to change once again.Originally Posted by Viper

i bet with the 05 line up of brilliant games will help boost the sales of the DS over the psp.
This is a good launch, but they have to keep the pressure going and they need to get more consistent games out.

^ there aren't alot of good games coming out in 2004, but in 2005 there are a lot of brilliant exclusive games coming out for the DS. And another huge stack of multi-psp and DS games coming out.
Nice, good job nintendo. BTW, how much is this compared to halo 2 the first week?

nintendo is probly saving all the good games for just before the PSP launch to take the attention away from the PSP. thisll be such an own
It's easier to have 2-3 million games ready on teh first day but there has never been than many consoles available on the first day, especially in just one country.Originally Posted by Bloodman
