<P>During the week of October 11-17 in Japan, preorders for the DS portable gaming system made carried the handheld to the third spot on hardware charts. The pre-orders for DS out did Nintendo's Gamecube but weren't enough to knock down its own Game Boy Advance SP and Sony's Playstation 2. Nintendo DS will be released in Japan on December 2.<BR></P>
