Far Cry

Alright, i know its been ages since this great PC game came out, and as most of you know, Far Cry: Instincts will be making an appearance on consoles (namely PS2 and Xbox) in 2005. Its possibly the best single player FPS since Half-Life, and IMO, one of the greatest shooters of all time. Greatness doesnt come for free, though, as to enjoy this game to its fullest potential, you'll need to have a top of the line gaming rig on your PC. While the multiplayer is ok, 'meh' at best, the single player is the true star of the show. if you've played it, great, come and talk about it. if your going to get it for your Xbox or PS2, tell us if your excited, mildly anticipating it, or could really give a dog's tit less.

i dont know much about the console versions, but supposedly the impressions at e3 were that they were crap... from game informer at least.

the game is severely overrated.

Battlefield 1942 was doing everything in that game a couple years ago. Sure, it looks good, but the gameplay is kinda recycled. Especially those monkey things that show up towards the end. Nonexistent AI is no fun.

I havent been hearing a whole hell of a lot good about this game either. And considering Halo 2, Half Life 2, and Doom 3 are all coming out within 6 months on Xbox, it will have to really start to turn some heads to get recognized.

I don't know anyone who has the game. I'm not interested in games on the computer so if it comes out on the GC, I would look into it.

I downloaded the PC demo and thought it might be alright except it ran like dog shit on my good PC. I've heard they messed up on the PC demo somewhere but I'm not buying it with the impression it takes a NASA comp to keep a good frame rate.

ive got the PC Demo, on disk, anyways. and the framerate runs just fine. Mind you, i need to have all the settings on low for it to run perfectly. What are your system specs Viper?

The Far Cry demo had a huge memory leak if I remember right. I think they released a patch but who knows.

The jungle setting is friggen awesome but the gameplay could have been a little better. I didn't like the physics on the vehicles.

May look into the patch then. I remember the boat and that's it as far as vehicles go. the horrid demo and 5 minute load times netween deaths made me delete it before I made it to any vehicles.

Far Cry was an awesome game because you can go anywhere you wanted (If you had the means of getting there).

This one level which is at night you are running through a pitch black forest with those evil creatures attacking you and the marines. Its scary as hell because if you see the brush shaking, you run like hell.

I was being chased once by two of them and I didnt have any ammo so I jumped off like a 500 foot cliff into the water..

The end was gay though...too hard and short.

If you ask me, the vehicles didnt belong at all, except maybe the hang glider, and the assault boat. All of the land vehicles were utterly useless, considering you were confined to a trail and couldn't go wherever you liked.

far cry's awesome and my and my friend got some co-op maps that look cool but i cant play multiplayer cuz my instruction booklet went missing and thats where the cd key was.
p.s. if anyone who doesnt like the multiplayer b kind enuff to donate a cd key? i wud b your bitch.
