    Okami HD

Sorry, but this deserves its own thread!

Okami HD Coming Exclusively to PS3 With PlayStation Move Support This Fall

Grab your Celestial Brush! I’m pleased to confirm that this fall, gamers will be able to return to the land of Nippon in Okami HD, exclusively on the PS3 with PlayStation Move support. Initially released to critical acclaim on the PS2, Okami HD has the player take on the role of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess, who inhabits the form of a wolf. After a tyrannical monster, Orochi, turns the world into a ruined, colorless wasteland, Amaterasu must use her magical abilities to restore the land to its previous glory and defeat the demon in charge of the destruction.

Okami HD brings Amaterasu’s epic tale to the PS3 with fully integrated HD graphics and widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. I did not think it was possible to make the game look even better, but when I saw it for myself, I was a believer. The trademark sumi-e ink art style lends itself perfectly to HD, allowing players to experience more of the awe-inspiring world displayed in more detail than ever before.

To create an even more immersive experience, you can take your PlayStation Move motion controller and use it as your own Celestial Brush and naturally make brush strokes to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. That said, if you’re just in the mood to relive Okami in HD with the same controls as you had on your PS2, you can also play with your traditional PS3 controllers.

To top things off, we know everyone loves Trophies, so Okami HD will support PS3 Trophies, (including a Platinum) giving you new challenges to face and feats to complete. Okami HD will be available for download exclusively on PS3 in North America and Europe this fall.

when I started watching the trailer, I didn't notice that much difference, but then they showed the comparison... Okami is one of my favourite RPGs. If there are enough extras in this, I might just pick it up

Okami HD developed by Capcom and Hexa Drive
    http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/25/ok...nd-hexa-drive/

    who's Hexa Drive?

Joystiq has confirmed that Okami HD, a touched-up and brushed-down version of Clover Studio's beautiful Zelda-like adventure, is being developed in collaboration between Capcom and Hexa Drive.

Remastered versions of classic games don't always enhance or preserve the experience properly, so we've come to scrutinize the pedigree of the companies that make them. Hexa Drive's most relevant resumé item happens to be an excellent Xbox Live Arcade update to another vibrant and cherished game: REZ HD.

The Japanese studio is headed by Masakazu Matsushita, who worked as lead programmer on Capcom's Devil May Cry 3 and then Lost Planet. Hexa Drive also partnered with Square Enix while developing a slice of Parasite Eve for PSP, dubbed The 3rd Birthday.

Okami HD is coming to PSN (with Move support) this fall for $20 – that's about 17 hours of game for every dollar, if we remember correctly.

well actually I didn't read it, no. I was in a bit of a hurry updating another forum but thought it would be nice to post it here as well. would you like me to get some KY and fly over to Germany? perhaps me you and Wounding could have a threesome

    quick tip for you:

'do you ever look at what you post' = 'are you a total idiot?'

'the answer is in the post' = a harmless observation

KY is a lubricating gel. I'm guessing that GribbleGrunger was implying that Wounding and you desire to bugger him. That being the case I assume that he says you should meet him in Germany due to that country being the spiritual cradle of anal-based pornography.

Hope this helps you two with your flirtation

You don't eat pigs, we don't eat pigs,
It seems it's been that way forever.
So if you don't eat pigs and we don't eat pigs,
Why not not eat pigs together?

Kotaku.Okami HD Plays (And Looks) Like a Dream

This last weekend in Tokyo, Capcom put on a little event called Capcom Summer Jam. In it they showed off a large portion of their upcoming and recently released titles. Foremost among these was the first playable demo of Okami HD—which Kotaku East was on hand to play.

Originally released back in 2006, Okami was one of the PlayStation 2's swansongs which became famous for its combination of quality Zelda-like gameplay and astoundingly beautiful sumi-e art style. It even garnered a sequel in 2010 on the DS as well as an appearance by the main character, Amaterasu, in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. But ever since the announcement of the first HD collection re-release back in 2009, fans have been clamoring to see the PS2's most beautiful game redone in HD splendor. And after my time with Okami HD last weekend, I can assure you this HD treatment is really doing the game justice.
Unlike the PS2's other HD re-mastered games, the changes in Okami are not just visual. While the game plays exactly the same as it always did back on the PS2, PlayStation Move support is being added to this version—mirroring Okami's 2008 Wii port.

On the visual side, everything is markedly clearer. In most of the HD remasters, the old PS2 models seem a little blocky despite the HD textures covering them. But in Okami HD, this blockiness actually meshes with the ink brush art style, making the game look even more like something that was hand painted.

In my fifteen minutes with Okami HD, the visuals were smooth and clear, and the frame rate was constant. I did notice a bit of a blur/afterimage occasionally following fast movements. But that might have been the TV and not the game—or maybe it was just a camera filter programmed into the game. Regardless, the occasional blur, while present, didn't make the game even a little less beautiful.

In the end, the only thing to really say about Okami HD is that it's Okami... in HD. And from what I was able to see, Capcom is hard at work making this HD conversion look the absolute best it possibly can. Who could ask for more?

Okami HD will be released on November 1, 2012, in Japan on the PS3 with an international release scheduled for this winter.

From what I'm reading it's a steady 30fps at 1080p (mostly). The occasional post has suggested that it does drop below 30fps and that putting 720p on eliminates that.

here are all the reviews so far:

I'll be very surprised if people who have not played it before don't come back to this thread and fill it with OMG!s and exclamation marks.

Doesn't matter which console you pay this game on, just find one of them and do it.
