Thread: PSone games on Vita?

Yeah, maybe you're right, but it works. And they advertise better too.

now this is what Sony should do with the momentum:

A list of all available games on their blog
Release new information about Tearaway, Killzone mercenaries and Assassins creed.
Get those reviews out a week before the release of LBPVita
Advertise the hell out of it for the rest of Sep and target 5 - 7 oclock to maximise the winge factor.

Can't say much on the advertising angle.

I've not technically watched a broadcast TV show since 2000. But I'm very niche on that front so don't take my situation as being normal.
The current US government is the type of government the founding fathers fought against and warned us about.

Trust me, the Brits are a gullible lot and have a thing about refusing what they're kids ask for. If they advertised LBPVita at that time of day and made that advert cute adn kid friendly, there would be literally thousands of kids nagging their parents for a Vita

Perhaps the US and UK are not so different then.....at least on a conscious level.

    Japanese advert:

and it's worth going here for a list of all the new features. I'm shocked at how many there are. I'm at a friends house at the moment... without my Vita!

Same as the PSP compatibility when VITA launched. GTA Stories games weren't on the list (they are now) and yet I've played them no probs outside one freeze. Instead of crying and whining, which is something the internet LOVES to do, just open your game and see if it works.

If it doesn't, THEN whine and cry

I gotta say everytime I go on blog comments I feel sorry for the community managers and what-not of Sony. Almost every post it's like they are babysitting a bunch of crying babies. Treyarch's community manager recently brought up a topic along those lines, "if you want us to listen, be adults".

Although it's from both sides, as they sure as hell can do their job better. Anyway.

This is so true and I believe ties into why older gamers are more grumpy. They are looking for that magic feeling they felt when they were a kid playing games. That is very hard to feel as an adult. Everything was simple and amazing when you were a kid, that's what people miss, not the "amazing" games. And playing classic games they've played when they were younger reminds them of that time.

For me though, it's personally about catching up. With one game actually, FFVII. Will be updating VITA and continuing FFVII soon as I am out of work. I hope I can transfer my save file from PS3 to VITA...(can't see why not).

I missed the hidden features in Sony FWs so that is very welcome
They are probably not 'hidden' as something fun for us to find rather Sony forgot to list them, but still

There is ONE downside and an indication of what you've just said Masteratt. Neogaf was all over this, saying how fantastic is was and how many new features had been 'stealth updated'. That thread was full of happy gadders. click to now and there's a thread about the fact that you can no longer have multiple accounts on the Vita because you have to reformat the memory card entirely. It seems that in a sea of fantastic new options and additions, alongside PS1 compatibility that this ONE feature has changed the view of the entire forum. It's not great, I know, but in light of this incredible update, it's just a slight set back in my eyes. One poster called it 'one step forward and two steps back'. I call it 'ten steps forward and one back'.

I think in general Gamers are getting greedy

    one guy writes:

Why is Sony doing everything in their power to discourage me from buying a Vita?
So because he can't have multiple accounts ALL of the update is invalidated. Ridiculous

    another said this:

Leave it to Sony to take a good product and make it gradually worse.
    These people belong on N4G.

It also appears that you are meant to have more than one memory card to have multiple accounts anyway:

Huh?...I thought that was always the case?

Well, that's what I thought, but Negaf has exploded with hate for Sony over this issue. Evidently there was a way of saving all your accounts on one memory card but I can't for the life of me work out how you would do it. I'm beginning to wonder if someone's called wolf here and those not in the know have fallen for it

Gimme a break... of course it sucks for a game console to be exclusively bound to one user (this hasn't been the case in the past with any console). But on the other hand, it's alright for a "phone" to behave this way. Sony (which I see as the culprit here, mind you) probably thinks the same way as phone manufacturers here. And it's PRETTY dumb. Not that I'd ever need several accounts on my device, but... not allowing it is just plain moronic. AND there's NO good reason to not allow it, either. PS3 can do it... 360 can do it. Even freaking Steam can do it. But oh no, not our "flagship handheld"... that's too much to ask from the consumer now, is it?
    Kept you waiting

Yes but it appears that those complaining are only complaining because they can no longer browse other regions. If you wanted another account you had to have another card anyway. Look at the video I posted. I shows you how to do it.

Of course I was peeved off when we first heard of it. Corporate retardation sums up that move pretty much on Sony's part.

Just not sure why it randomly rose up again.

Exactly....Again, not on Sony's side by any means (read the first line of this post). Just sick of the fucking ungrateful holier than thou gamers.

That's exactly what I was going to say.

I remember we had our own little debate here about it before Vita came out. And I never heard of a workaround either.

I've been discussing this elsewhere and people are saying you could do it with the same memory card, but not one has told me how yet

funnily enough that thread seems to have disappeared off the front page of Gaff so I'm beginning to wonder if this was just someone stirring things up for no reason. In the video I posted above it clearly shows that you need two cards to do this. If it was possible then surely it would have shown you how to do it with one card

This is how you use one memory card but you can only browse the regions and download demos. You CANNOT download full games.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khjbbeOBNto

Ok, so here's what I can gather. Sony allowed you to have multiple accounts on different memory cards. It was there from the start. But people found a loophole in Sony's system and exploited it in order to use only one card. So people are basically complaining because Sony closed that loophole. If you are going to exploit something then surely you KNOW that exploit could be fixed in the future. Can Vita catch a break with the media for just one day? Not on your fucking life.

    here is the official announcement:

Castlevania: SOTN can be downloaded to your Vita from your download list (if you got it) on Vita, but is not available on the Vita store which is a bit odd if you ask me. Maybe SCEA just doesn't give a damn.
