Deep Silver has announced a sequel to Dead Island, here's the official thread to talk about the game.

Since both Deep Silver and Techland are rather small companies compared to other people out there, they seem to listen to fan-feedback much more than other publishers/developers, and they are rather quick in fixing any issues with their software. The first Dead Island title was definitely an ambitious title that's never really been done before. An open world first-person RPG zombie game is definitely something a tad-bit new. But considering so many genres were smashed together, some could say the final product was a little underwhelming. I think the trailer had something to do with that.

Personally, I very much liked Dead Island and played it quite a bit. The majority of the experience came in the co-op. But to reiterate, with so many genres smashed into one, it would have been nice to see a little more things.

What do you want to see in the the Dead Island sequel?

I'd like to see a day-and-night cycle in the game. In the City of Moresby they sort of had that, but it should have been a game-wide feature and not something you encountered in just one specific area. It'd really add a much different aspect to the game. In the daytime, it'd obviously be much easier to see yourself, but that in turn means the zombies could spot you just as well. At night, although the zombies can't see you as well, there's more of them, and alerting them would put you in a very bad circumstance. Dead Island wasn't all that scary, but this would certainly change that.
