Not a bad roster
This is the trailer...
This is the actual game...
nuff' said. Again, rendering with in game assets then adding tons of post processing effects piled on top doesn't = real time. So you're either full of shit, or were playing a tech demo that was not based on the actual Halo 3 engine at all, because nothing that engine or any subsequent halo engine since has pumped out has even come close to matching that trailer. And having more going on isn't indicative of quality (not to mention it's a cutscene, so it doesn't matter anyway as it's just as likely to be pre-rendered in the actual game). There are no jaggies present anywhere (perfect AA, which you do not see at all this generation period), the depth of field effects are far better than anything else in any console game this generation much less a halo game, and as you can see in the comparison, the shading is miles ahead of the real thing (notice there are no shadows on the visor in the bottom pic, you don't see the same self-shadowing as the top pic.).

Good find Michael and frosty I said what there is to say. As I said I suggest playing the game yourself and you can see it is visually on par with the trailer and in several cases outshines it.
I looked around and this is what I got.
The original first halo 3 trailer ran in the halo engine but used higher res models which couldn't be used in game (as your playing) due to system strain but it could be used for visual effect in cutscene's, the models where since then de ressed for disk space or more seemlessness or w.e

Everything else you have seen has been running under a game engine. its that simple
☑ First they ignore you (Pre-2007)
☑ Then they laugh at you (2007-2008)
☑ Then they fight you (2008-2010)
☑ Then they copy you (2011-2012)
☐ Then you win...
Ron Paul 2012!
sounds about right. a drastic difference from the actual game, even on the newer revisions of the engine since then. Definitely not representative of what they actually delivered.

I'm not excited about Halo 4 as I feel I should be. For years, I have been wanting to resume the story of Master Chief. I want to know more about his position as a Reclaimer and to figure out about where he's headed...but I'm bothered by how it'll happen. I'm not entirely bothered by Bungie not making the game. I think I'm more bothered by how the game was presented. In the trailer, it retells the events at the end of Halo 3 (Legendary ending). Instead of the ship heading towards this odd, mechanical looking planet we see this: Cortana falls into the helpless woman role, Master Chief saves his Internet girlfriend and has a jetpack from NO WHERE while the partially destroyed ship starts exploding for no reason. It then stops and Master Chief gazes out to see Unicron.
And then the real kicker: "I'm proud to announce and all-new trilogy!" So, this confirms Halo 5 and 6. I think the story of MC's journey of being a Reclaimer could easily be told in one game. The Covenant are pretty much gone as well as the Flood, but I can see some stupid shit going down like Cortana will become the new Gravemind due to her being messed around with by him, or we'll get Robot Flood, or we'll fight some other aliens with guns because Master Chief needs to kill stuff for 3 more games!
Okay, so maybe I'm a little bothered by Bungie not being involve. Half of 343 Industries were former Bungie employees, but I don't think it's going to help. I also think MS is pushing for a trilogy because they probably want games to compete against Call of Duty. It doesn't really make a lot of since, but Halo stopped being "THE console shooter" to many people after Call of Duty 4 was released 2 months after Halo 3. Ever since then, the Halo games have kind of been downplayed (Halo ODST wasn't much new in terms of MP, Reach was but more people were concerned about Black Ops). I think MS just wants to try proving that they can do well without a third-party game, or I could be totally wrong and they just want to make more money and don't give a shit about beating COD because it's still money in their pockets.

Initial info:
Footage is pre-alpha
A public Beta is very unlikely
30fps
AA, no ghosting
Native 720p
Looking awesome, great lighting as always and seems to move much better (animation wise). No ghosting a good plus. Liking more involved characterisation and story incorporation.
Should be an awesome experience.

It's about time someone took this game seriously visually. I never thought Bungie really pushed the 360 with Halo. On The first Xbox halo was a revolutionary experience unlike anything else on consoles in every category, including visuals. Hopefully they keep the rest of the game intact as well, and don't try to fix what isn't broken. They could have a winner on their hands.

I completely, agree with Dustin. In other news, this is the final sign of the apocalypse, as I never agree with Dustin.

Isn't she a computer AI hologram thing?
True but her physical manifestation would either be indicative to the fantasy of her creator of the fantasies her creator expects those she communicates with will have. Naturally it's a the latter though not by her fictional creators but the game developers themselves.
I'm just rambling.
I agree.
But I don't mind. As long as their tits aren't hanging out for no reason, artistically bringing out the "best" form of a female is all good in my book. Apparently doesn't apply to men though, as they should all wear 50 ton armours.
But yeah, immature industry![]()

suits use less polygons ... straighter lines, less organic. i think it's done for practical reasons not aesthetic ones, but i've got to agree with the scantily clad women with perfect figures. i'm not going to complain to parliament about this though

hella pretty....
If that's the standard UI, also a really nice touch, adds greatly to the immersion, like you are actually looking through Master Chief's helmet, nice touch...hopefully it won't be too "samey" though...
