There's been a ton of promotions in Toronto and I assume elsewhere in Canada. Probably the same in the US and UK too. Lots of promotions to get a game or a game and a memory card bundled with the system.
I got lucky and got $50 cash-off with a $50 gift card for just the system though (gift card went towards MGS HD and 8 GB Vita memcard). It's almost $100 off, but not quite, because I had to pay tax on $200 and then the $50 gift card comes.
That was fun though still, though the people offering the promotion and Futureshop weren't so happy about it
