pretty much, a year out with PS3 though, it was pretty bad, but things have improved dramatically.

I think that was just another bonus for Ratt gaming on Xbox more though, he really just like the smoother OS and better online functionality. And suffice to say, if you have an active friend's list with people you game with everyday, X-game chat, party, smoother clearer VO through games does become an important element when gaming. Xbox's feel connected in a way PS3's don't just because of the under-lining software.

I just don't think he should sell his PS3 even if he does put it up as the second console, I don't trust the fatty's

If the fatty's backwards compatible, I'd recommend you repair and sell that one, as it'll fetch a higher price. Plus the slim will, by its very nature, be better for storage: remove its cables, stand it on its side, and rest it out of harm's way.

I've been thinking about getting a second console myself, and the new X360 is pretty compact. I'll finally be down to just one credit card by early next year, and I can steadily chip away at that while I buy myself a few AV bits and bobs (doing my bit for the economy *ahem* albeit China's). I'll definitely be grabbing a PSvita since I made the decision fairly early on in the PSP's life to only buy digitally, so I'll have a solid back-catalogue to play in between bouts of the PSvita games I buy.

Because of that (and the fact that I'm going to be a big girl: decorate my bedroom and buy some new, non-underwear, clothes for the first time in... about a year?) I likely won't be able to afford another big purchase until August/September sort of time. Which means I'm conflicted: do I go for the X360 as my second console or hold out for a WiiU? If I can download and play Super Metroid on the WiiU, which seems likely, I'm altogether more swayed in its direction. But I need to know that Nintendo won't neglect necessary bits of hardware and software this time: the lack of an optical output singularly told me everything I could need to know about the Wii.

Also, I hear rumours that Microsoft are readying a console for late next year, which then puts me in an awkward position: support Nintendo and their perpetually silly ways (no DVD playback in a console that uses DVD's? Seriously? Not even as an optional extra?) or support a company that I fundamentally dislike (but one that generally produces a solid OS)? If one of them gets involved with Google, I'm sold.

I suppose what matters is that Apple doesn't benefit from my money. As long as that's the case I can sleep easy. Viva l'Amazom MP3 Store!

You don't eat pigs, we don't eat pigs,
It seems it's been that way forever.
So if you don't eat pigs and we don't eat pigs,
Why not not eat pigs together?

No certainly not a given - but common sense dictates that a company with alot of experience developing certain products should do a good job - and by all acounts the new 360 dash is very good - though certainly I don't have a problem with the XBM

it does mean that ps3 is better console than x360 right ?
Better is pretty subjective - better for who, you, me or you idea of "in general?"
Both systems have their advantages if you value one set of advantages more than the other then that console is better for you (and the list is long with pros and cons not really what this thead is about) clearly you value the advantages Sony brings I'm not here to change your mind nuff said.

and anyway i think you didn't really get my creepy joke-post.
    About Kinect?
    I guess not

and to be clear i like ps os and even if xbox has a better one it wouldn't make me change the system
and neither i care about masturbating to screen to screen comparsions
Ok so you admint you don't know or care about the differences yet you can say with authority: I don't buy this bulshit about 3rd party games being so much better.

Yet how do you know if your not even going to click a few links or do a few mins of research; but you don't care anyway so we don't need to bring it up again. Just one more thing you make a statement so I decided to call you out on it and I presented some info to you thats all.

    but just out of curiosity
    sure

is it posibble that somebody is playing the superrior version of game
and the other guy on the other system having better TV set is still getting better experience ?
Absolutly, esp if we compare someone running over HDMI - OLED -7.1 - cinema type setup vs RCA cable + Old TV -of course alot of these sites the assumption is made that the user has "both" systems under their tv hooked into HDMI.
Which low and behold describes my setup!

i mean it's kind of funny for me becasue many times
i see this comparsions and people write alot of words
and still all i see is different contrast or gamma setting...

and anyway i am just not compatible with xbox
alone the idea of having one seems creepy to me.
If you can't see it then good, you would kill me if I pointed out v-synce on/off for you, once some one shows you you'll notice any game without it forever.

  6. I didn't know getting a 360 was such an offensive thing to you, sorry KRA

@TimmyJ : You don't need clothes. Buy consoles and games. You can play them naked in your room *creepy*

About Fable, Fable 3 demo was interesting, is it beneficial to play all 3 games or is it OK to jump straight into Fable3?

don't be sorry. for some reason i can't have one.
but as much as having xbox is repulsive for me
i can see good things about this console
smooth os is always a good thing
i know that some games plays better
but i don't play that much 3rd party games
the only time it really affected me was beyonetta case (i refused to buy this game)
and i am not that much into online gaming
    but enough about me.

well you said MS is doing os's for living
    like it alone means anything.
i just applied your logic and since sony is doing tech for living figure it out.

I have 5 want to come over.
    go away you devil...

Yes I fully understood your other post and the point you wanted to make ie that Sony has been designing and making their own hardware and has alot of experience. I used a blanket statement I should not have and you jumped all over it -but I think i've addressed everything in my previous post.

well i wasn't making that much of a point about sony hardware as just about logic in your statment.
and i didn't intend it to be such a jump.
anyway i didn't notice that you noticed
and yes you addresed it good
i think it's just my english.
this morning it feels more rubish than usual.

  10. Here is something to cheer you up, I buy 360 for better multiplat performance, and guess who wins the revelations face-off

(though to be honest, no tear + slightly better framerate > slightly sharper graphics....so for me i made the right choice but still lol)

Went to town again and got Skyrim 360, AC: Revelations and Saints Row 3 for £15 (trade in deal at GAME). And also traded in games I was gonna sell at HMV and got £41 for them cash!! (not store credit).

Good trip if I do say so myself. Installing the games now on 360 HDD.

just out of curiosity how much do you want for your ps3 ?
i don't need a hdd so you could keep it

  12. Not sure if I'm selling it yet. And if I do, I usually can't be bothered with international shipping

Even though PS3 is my number one console being a multi plat gamer is the way to go. There are some great games on all three platforms. I will be switching on my Wii after nearly a year for the first time to enjoy Xenoblade and Skyward Sword soon.

As for your second choice dont be impulsive and go and sell your slim. Your BC PS3 wont last long even when repaired and you know it. Xbox 360 is winding down and MS dont have the first party studios to support both next Box and the 360. Also dont go overboard with the multi plats. Its only PC centric devs that mostly stuff up on PS3. Xbox 360 games also have their performance problems e.g Mass Effect, Crysis 2, Skyrim, New Vegas, FFXIII, Castlevania etc. Most Xbox gamers are too proud or stubborn to admit it and its not so much rosier on the other side as they would have you believe.

don't install skyrim to the hard drive. They have problems with it not loading textures etc and are supposed to be patching it soon.

Also with fable, they are all somewhat interlinked but not enough that you would notice if you hadn't played the previous ones. Just subtle things.

I won't miss out on PS3 stuff, if there is something I can't resist, there is always the option of repairing the fat. Can't remember any huge PS exclusives incoming though.

I just checked my last played games on PS3, and all but one (unch3) are multi-plat and run better on 360 So made me wonder why keep PS3 around. I think it was becoming obvious my frustration with PS3 in general, as I ranted and blogged about here about lack of progress in online department and the crappy OS (oh god the OS!) and really, on day to day basis, those matter more to me than anything.

It's hard not to sound too nitpicky unless you are a hardcore gamer like myself and use the system VERY frequently like I do, so all I can say is bad OS frustration builds up quick and it really is VERY frustrating and I was putting up with it to play 360 ports basically. Made no sense.

360 OS is smooth as knife through butter atm and it's getting updated with the Win8 look where people in preview says it runs even better, so hurray.

Anyway that's to clear up where I'm coming from, so hopefully we don't get anymore "why switch bro" themed posts.

"There is an update for this game"
*clicks download, done in literally 2 seconds*
    Woot!!
perhaps you've seen the comparison screens of AC from Eurogamer or many other sites that have been showing cut scenes, but i can assure you that AC on the Ps3 is better:

Anyway didn't mean to turn "yay i got a 360" thread into a comparison thread, though I guess it was inevitable when I listed the reasons and on a PS3 fan dominated forum.

i agree with you though. in general the multi are better on the 360, i don't like that fact but it is a fact. i can't blame you for opting to buy a 360 for the multis. if i had plenty of money and space, i'd do exactly the same. i just wouldn't get rid of your PS3. your going to get a hell of a lot more use out of it in the years to come

  18. Yeah it's looking like I'm gonna keep it. I'm big of a nerd to get good value out of both.

  19. #39
The advantage that any multi platform game has on the 360 over the PS3 is so negligible now that I wouldn't say it's a dealbreaker. Not like it was in the early days anyway. Enjoy your Xbox, I have one but it sits in my daughters room as she getsmore use out of it now than we ever did. I might hook it up in the front room again some time to play some Left 4 Dead though, my favourite game on it.
