  5. Late 2012 release, I'm sure. Ka-ching.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was late spring or early summer, Rockstar hasn't been revealing their games to far from release.

  7. Well, I loved GTAIV. But I also hope it is better than it's predecessor and San Andreas, the best of them all.

And you may be right. A June release wouldn't be a stretch, but I thought they'd like to show the game off at E3 next year. Get some massive exposure.

It's GTA, It has more exposure than E3. It's been trending on Twitter since it's announcement earlier today.

Also I don't remember the last time R* showed of a game at E3.

    Mere coincidence?

A friend of mine (a developer who will remain nameless) said that the Grand Theft Auto V announcement was oddly timed. I didn't understand what he meant at first until our readers and Twitter began mentioning that today's date coincides with the official start date of former Florida attorney Jack Thompson's disbarment date. On September 25, 2008, the Florida Supreme Court’s disbarment order for Thompson was signed. It went into effect 30 days later, on October 25, 2008.

Who can say with Rockstar? It wouldn't surprise me in the least. It's hysterical coincidence if not, though.

Now way it's coincidental. That's an intentional subtle jab if I ever saw one.

  14. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!

I've been playing all GTAs from 3 to 4 and everything in between thanks to Steam's all GTAs for £5 deal and I LOVE them all!
People who were disappointed with 4 just expected too much, 3 years after release and it's still the best adventure I've been on this gen.

Anyone who is good with fonts, anyone know what the style of that five suggests?

I guess it's time to open my GTA fansite bookmarks and go crazy! I might not follow the news here because we have too many "gta sucks" people who ruined the thread in GTA4 one so...lol.

So me expecting a GTA game was to much? To me GTA4 was like a GTA knock off. Added in stupid features that made it frustrating and took out what made it great.

and Red Dead Redemption is the best adventure game this gen. and the only reason I'm hyped for GTA5.

  16. Red Dead's mission structure < GTA4s mission structure, for me.

Red Dead didn't have imaginative missions like, go into a interview, then anytime you want, stand up and blast the interviewer in the head, get phone number of the target, call him to get him stand next to a window, then snipe his head off, call the target in a park full of people to identify him, the bank heist, and there were a couple more awesome GTA4 missions.

And yes, GTA4 wasn't perfect (I hated the phone mechanic as much as anyone) and in sandbox terms, was much inferior to other GTA titles but as an action adventure game, it was one of the best GTAs.

I also wish GTA4 had been a bit less realistic in terms of handling, because it felt really slow to me. I got used to it, but I have more fun with the more arcadey GTA games on PS2.

    Awww sheeeeeiiiiit. That'll be epic.

Also in GTa4, there is an option on PC called, "Definition", if you turn it off, you get the blurry look of the consoles and with it ON, it actually, you know, looks like a current-gen game. So I hope they manage to have that turned on with this GTa on consoles...And don't get me started on what they are going to do about DVD space..

Assuming they've been working on it now and then and didn't just completely leave it (and seeing as it's GTA, they probably didn't), this is the longest worked on GTA in the franchise's history, so, expect epic things.

The switching definition on in GTA4 PC just disables the massively overblown depth of field... there's a really nice mod for that.
    Kept you waiting

  20. I haven't even delved into mods yet. Been too busy switching between playing them all and getting work done. If I get mods though it'll probably just be weapon skins. Gotta get my gold AK
