and of course the caveat being them being on 3 consoles instead of two and being in the later part of the generation with much higher install base then March of 08.

    Agreed.

And the sales of MW (launched a year earlier than GTAIV) fit in nicely in the sales pattern of an advancing console generation.

Needs less boats, trains, and helis, more bikes.

Well it's not the full list, like there is more than 1 plane in the code so it's not finished.
    more of the code

  6. Another light news, but a bump is needed as I'd imagine Rockstar will start their epic PR machine up soon.

Along with TakeTwo delaying Bioshock to clear up October, and now this:

October looking good. Makes sense to me as well as a good window to release it.

They tend to make proper reveals very close to release date, don't they? It should start really soon then.

  8. Four months away. So by R* typical schedule, later this month or early next month, the hype machine should get going.

Tell you what... if GTA5 comes out this year, I am actually happy that TLOU etc. comes out only next year.

Looks as good as Max Payne 3 on PC I'll be well stoken son. I actually feel creeped out about dead bodies in this game, it looks so good. Just the way they move is unsettling...

I don't know if any of you remember, but the helicopters in GTA4 controlled like shit. I'd love it if they changed them to control more like the Talon in the new Twisted Metal. Best game helicopter controls I've ever experienced.

Man. My body is ready for the epicness that is GTAV. I'll be picking this up for PC for sure.

I was supposed to have Max Payne 3 by now, but the site I ordered it from lost their shipment...so it's next week for me.

Whoo! Just checked out benchmarks for MP3. Sweet stuff...bring it on!!!

  13. Helicopter controls were fine for travel but as soon as you wanted to have a heli vs heli fight in MP, it turned into dog shit.

Speaking of MP, Rockstar failed miserably with each try this gen for me, with closest to being good being RDR Co-Op missions so, though doubtful, I hope I like the MP of this game.

They were okay for just getting around, if you didn't need to get anywhere very fast, or land quickly and precisely, but when it came to shooting anything, even stationary targets on the ground, the controls were awful. Much better heli controls all around in Twisted Metal.

Yeah even shooting ground targets were bad, true. GTA helis need a hover mode or something (haven't played TM so not sure what it does right).

Yeah, they just roll up in a dump truck and tip 35GBs of textures into your eyeballs. All that stuff about it needing 2 bazillion gigs of VRAM in your graphics card is crap, needs less to run than GTA4 and looks waaaaay better. Needs a lot of ram if you run it 16XMSAA. So don't.

Different teams work on different projects but if this is any indication it'll make give you a warm glow about GTA5 on PC.

  17. It's a well known fact that GTAIV was just a lazy port. Max Payne 3 is the first time Rockstar took PC seriously...And maybe LA Noire too? Haven't kept up with the community on that. But yeah MP3 is a REAL taste of R.A.G.E engine on PC.

I literally played GTAIV on every format so better GTAV runs on everything, the awesome-er it is for all my replays.

LA Noire on PC is locked at 30 fps and needs tricks to run fullscreen at 60 fps DX11.

i.e. Another lazy Rockstar PC Port.

Once you do get it running Max Payne 3 destroys it.

Can you imagine if RDR got this treatment, that's on RAGE... Woah... Great lost games.

I wouldn't say that to LA Noire. There's a simple reason that it was locked to 30Hz... the "face" stuff. Did run well on my PC... much better than GTA4 (which, in general, looks "better").

Some modders out there have put Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas onto the RAGE engine. The mod is called GTA IV: San Andreas: A World In Motion. I think this'll give a GENERAL idea of what Grand Theft Auto V will be like. I cannot stress the word GENERAL enough.
