vita's platform and tools should ensure a steady flow of games without or without PS2 titles being playable. I'm sure some of the more popular remakes will make there way to Vita, though it'll likely be the remastered ones.
Certain games makes sense as well like a Dragon Quest remake or an action game like Devil may Cry. Niche titles like God Hand, not so much...

Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”

i'm assuming these are part of the same drive:

I have no problem with them asking a good price for these games... 9.99USD, or something along 7.99€ is pretty good. But if they force me to buy games to play them on PS3, which I already own on disk, then no... that's something I can't agree with.
Kept you waiting

Games Owned:
Blu-Ray PSN titles
Motorstorm Tekken DR
Virtua Fighter 5 Mortal Kombat II
Heavenly Sword Rampage
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Stardust
Folklore Calling All Cars
It's just that they're not really bringing backwards compatibility back. It would be nice that they let us play the games we already own, but they're just not releasing the applications that would allow us to do so, even if it only meant a handful of titles. That's what Microsoft originally did, but only because they didn't actually have a real backwards compatible system anyway. Eventually, such a feature ends up being much less relevant that having good, modern games.
Anyway, I hear that the emulation is pretty much decent.

PS1 emulation is very stressful on PS3. I can play a PS3 game for like 20-25mins before the fans kick up a gear, with PS1 emulation, they kickup in like 5-10 mins. This was not a one-off, same thing every time.
So I wonder how well optimised PS2 emulation will be. I'll probably end up buying one game to give it a go. I say 'buy', I'm sure they'll give PS+ members some "OK" PS2 game eventually.
Is it possible that Sony have, rather than implement backwards compatibility, created a means by which PS2 games can be converted to run on the PS3?

From the looks of it, it's more like they've been testing some games individually and they're only going to make available those that work properly.

3 More PS2 games coming
Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland - Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland takes the popular series in a whole new direction, offering a deeper and more robust role-playing experience. It might be best described as a 'Life Simulation'.
Raiden III - Raiden III for PlayStation 2 is a port of the classic arcade shooter, complete with a stage select mode that lets you replay stages once you've cleared them. The series has transitioned from its 2D roots to 3D, creating lush environments, devastating explosions and countless enemies, without a drop in frame-rate. Two players can play together to push back the invading forces, just like in the arcade!
Bloodrayne - As the vampiric agent BloodRayne, you'll travel through the eerie swamps of Louisiana, to Argentina and Germany in this battle-heavy, third-person thriller. The game features non-linear gameplay in more than 40 levels and three massive worlds, the ability to suck blood for health, and to use slow-motion, zoom and aura visions to aid in death dealing. Pull off fantastic acrobatic moves to bend the environment to your will and dispatch enemies with BloodRayne's blades and kicks for awesome in-your-face combat.

Only on PSN(top choice on the main menu)->PS2 Classics
is God of War, DMC, ICO/SotC gonna fall under this lineup soon? I would rather by them separately since sometimes I don't really want all the games in a collection.

No, if any thing they'll be HD classic like Prince of Persia. PS2 classics have no improvements.
And the God of War games are already up separately though only for PSPlus.
Two more:
Full Spectrum Warrior
Stuntman Ignition

who? lol...
ok, that's mean, I think Stuntman was a tad popular during PS2 generation, not my cup of tea of games though.
