This is a most Vita Conference, Showing UI and non-game feature seems pretty responsive. Got to wonder how XMB can be so unresponsive.

    -has multitasking ability
-Sony's Japan's Mascot Toro and Kuro announced for Tekken X SF

OK, now that one boggles the mind. A FFX remake but not FFVII?

They must really be saving that one for something. Probably waiting for a platform holder to pay major money for it.

I might be the only one, but I was actually angry about the FFX announcement alongside being underwhelmed. Square is strung out on too many projects and the last thing I wanted to see was a remake announcement of FFX.

Edit: I got beat to the punch, but I was wondering why out of all the proper final fantasies, they picked FFX? I'm guessing it's an HD uprez and the whole remake business was just a miscommunication. If it is a full remake...I might just boycott Final Fantasy titles all together because to me, that is one of the dumbest decisions I've ever heard.

Just noticed the release date for FFX. Pretty sure that just means an HD port and not a full remake as that would take much longer to do than an HD port.

Nevermind. That's not the release date for FFX.

I think they already said that it's difficult to remake en old 2D game in 3D. They would have to redraw everything, rethink the gameplay etc. That's why they probably went for a 3D game like FFX.

Well that is what I consider a HD remake to be, up conversion and improved frame rate with the occasion HD game getting better textures.

That is partly why most people want a remake of FF7 seeing how outdated it is.

I don't think a FFVII remake would even need to be fully 3D. Look at how Capcom remade RE for Gamecube. To me, that's the blueprint for remakes.

  14. Again good luck with a FF7 remake. They would have to start everything from scratch meaning it would suck all their human ressources to remake a 14y old game. They have VsXIII and potentially an FFXIII-3 (lulz) to get finished in the next two years. If you want an idea of what a potential FF7 would look, you just need to watch Advent Children. I personally would hate that. FF7 was designed around the limitations that PSOne had back then, the battle system, the 2d pre-rendered background... If they had PS3 power in that time, the game would have been probably quite a bit different from what we got then.
It's going to end up like Star Wars, I bet if that remake is made, everyone will hate it, i'm sure of it. Don't touch FF7 S-E.

I actually agree... FFVII wasn't that good. Imho VIII was superior in almost all regards.
    Kept you waiting

It' ll always be an eternal debate. FFVII is and has been praised by lots of of international press and journalist at the time when it came out. Of course the game has many flaws and is not perfect and neither of the following are. But it is still one of the best RPG experience and is said to be of the best of the FF series with FFX. But that's of course relative and objective. FFVIII had a good storyline but the gameplay if I remember didn't appeal to a lot of people when reviews came out. The " stealing magic " system was said to be a little bit cheap and the unlimited Limit trigger when having a low health was not considered to be refined. But I loved VIII as well especially the overall design of the game having those 3D human sized characters and a world reminescent of our own planet.
But FFVII being also one of the first 3D rpg gave so much emotions and also was probably one of the first RPG that teenagers at the time played and grew with. And some people say that your first experience of a game is sometimes the best you ca have and FFVII was also known as being the first ever RPG to some people defending it.
I did play phanasy star 1, secret of mana and FFVI before. But FFVII was and is still a remarkable game.

FFVIII was really good ,but was just like a evolution step to FFVII especially in terms of graphics and the introduction of the card games and the Summons GForce system. FFVII "did" revolutionize the RPG genre IMO.

U guys played FFVll when most of the magic was gone. As stated above, if that was your first or second RPG, you would likely be very fond of the game.

Cloud, loss memory pretending to be a hero story, is still my favorite character and Sephiroth is also pure ownage. Although I've heard, the most classic RPG is 6, and had an outstanding protagonist and antagonist as well, so I would love for that to be remade over Vll.

FFVll is not overrated though guys, just really really dated. A lot of the benchmarks it set have long been forgotten, and FFVlll was a huge step over the previous game, but didn't master it's charm and appeal IMO.
