So no new PS3 games? Well how bout that...
What with the recent price drop you think you would want to you know keep the momentum going.
Let's be honest HD gaming development is almost at a standstill in Japan. Aside from the games in development hell (The Last Guardian and VersusXIII) and HD remasters, dont expect much coming from Japan.
dunno, but we just know about a bunch of games, if you actually break it down, there's still a bunch of stuff coming for PS3. I'm not sure what the internets even want anymore, I guess they want a conference with like 5 brand new games they've never seen before for each systemProblem is, we get tons and tons of LEAKS and nothing is new anymore by the time E3 and TGS come around.
Starhawk would have been a great reveal for E3--what happens? The idiot announces it on the web like 3 weeks before and then everyone watches the E3 trailer like "dude...I already seen that -_-"
FFXlll-2 could have been a reveal for TGS as well, I just think the big 3 are tired of trying to keep up with what the internet leaks and what it doesn't, so just don't expect any surprises at any of these big shows anymore, just look at them as official updates on what's happening with your favorite console--I get a lot more enjoyment of them that way.
And this guy on IGN was saying he wanted to see more on PS3, he feels like PS3's 2012 isn't going to be as good as 2011..Dude? It's still friggin 2011This is just an attitude that permeates the internet which I find ridiculous. Are you really going to spend $300 for all new games every week at the end of the year. We are getting Uncharted 3, Ico/Sotc MGS remakes, Batman, Dark Souls, Oblivion, Battle Field and a new COD before the year is even out. Not to forget updates to games like Infamous 2 and LBP2, then as soon as the year ends you are hit with another big game Mass Effect 3.
For 2012 you already have Starhawk and Twisted Metal coming, FFXlll-2, more remakes (ZOE/FFX/DMC) Last Guardian, and a bunch of games that are only in Japan that could make there way over here (Tales of Xillia, Graces remake, NinoKuni, Monster Hunter portable HD) New announced games doesn't make the announced ones disappear. None of these include PSN titles like Trine2, From Dust, Pixel Junk games, Journey, or Under Siege etc...there is just more than enough content for people to play games. And I just hate that forums and game sites echo that guy's statements at IGN like few annoucned games means the content is somehow shortened. Not everyone has time or money to play 50+ games a year like these "journalist" at gamesites do.

A question based on observation. Might be off-topic for this thread and it was triggered by Omni's comment on the general mindset in the web.
From looking at metacritic score, all AAA exclusives of PS3 in general seems to have a lower score than 360 AAA exclusives and cross platform AAA exclusives. Is this statement on quality of Sony studio selection or built-in bias towards 360? Killzone3, God of War3, Infamous2, Resistance3... have lower score and final score in lower 80s except GOW3? I have noticed eurogamer being very biased towards 360 than PS3 but is that an exception or the general trend? LBP, uncharted2 and GOW3 have delivered, GT has missed it.
All time high score PS3
More 360 AAA exclusives are int the 90's than PS3? For 360 Forza 2&3 are in 90s and GT5 is MIA for PS3.
To Omni's comment, is it more general trend/statement of the web journalism or web intelligence or Sony has been distracted in PS3 generation? A general shift in the direction towards MS and has MS delivered better quality than Sony in this generation. Did the initial negative perception from PS3 launch still lingering on and continuing against PS3? I am yet to see any compelling positive story for PS3. So far Techmeme has had more news in regards to xbox than for Playstation related except for the unfavorable PSN hacking. Any news about xbox makes into the headline section of the Techmeme and Playstation hardly. If Vita was launched by MS, it would have been the top news in the Techmeme.
Definitely with you on this, dude. Tbh I'd settle for them releasing it on PSN seeing as I only have a PSPGo - but a Crisis Core disc nonetheless...Originally Posted by Bsack

@pari; it is likely that 360 is the market leader in the U.S...therefore, most U.S-based game sites favor the more popular console. There's still time to amend it somewhat, but 360 has established itself as the online shooter console, so likely, Sony won't be able to dominate the HD console market again until next-gen offering an equal or superior online experience, and with Call of Duty releasing every year with 360 perks, the gap in the U.S will probably not shrink by much. Unless Uncharted 3 or some Move game strikes a chord and ushers in a couple million new units.

We want Sony at the least in Japan to start announcing games for the PS3. Their anemic output has been shocking to say the least. It would be nice for 3rd parties as well to step up, but that's as that goes. SCEJ really need to get it together, if large games can't be produced then smaller ones or ports if you have to go that far. I get that Vita is the focus, but you have 7 million customers (give or take) that should be looked after.
^There's a good number of games coming for PS3 exclusively not considered 3rd party support. Games that will come out in 2013 don't need to be announced so early. End of 2011 and most of 2012 is jam-packed with high profile games.

I have to say i agree with drakkar. Sony Japan has been pretty poor. GT5 took way too long and The Last Guardian is getting a development cycle thats bordering on the Duke Nukem Forever ridiculous scale now. The fact that it wasnt even present makes me think its not even coming next year. It would be nice if Sony could at least come up with more publishing deals like they did with Demon's Souls. At the moment we are getting more exclusive content ( Ninokuni, FFXIII Versus, Yakuza ) from 3rd parties than Sony's own studios in Japan.
Wouldn't the attention on Vita have a lot to do with that though?
Japan loves portables now, and Sony is still a Japanese based company, I just made a blog about this actually...

I agree with you there, but surely SCEJ have some titles for 2012? And yes I also agree that TGS was mainly for Vita but SCEJ is only going to have 1 title at launch (made by an external studio) and Gravity Daze to follow in 2012. Now granted they may just want to highlight launch/near launch titles, in this case I will concede. If not then production from SCEJ has been sporadic at best and I wish them luck in solving this problem.
