Getting the legal done and over with.
Hey filed it back in January and only just received approval. Sounds about right. I submitted for a trademark back in Feb and it's still going through the processes.
Also notice the mark is actually "NINTENDO THE LAST STORY". Meaning they probably tried to get "The Last Story" last year but was rejected. Forcing them to try a different mark - adding the company name to it to ensure uniqueness of the mark.

Are NA gamers pampered ones? Seriously WTF is NOA thinking. Saying there is not enough customers in NA and releasing it in Europe is a major WTF moment from NOA. And there is no release for NA still.
Europe is much more casually oriented on the Wii than NA is. You can verify that by looking at regional sales data for select games.
Given that Xenoblade is more core interbreed, watching European sales to gauge the validity of a NA release doesn't really make much sense.
I'm still hopeful given that they've gone through trademark hell with the USPTO that they do intend to release the game (and the others).
I feel shit for you guys because the game is getting amazing reviews. This might just be the best JRPG released this gen based on what ive read.
meh...if it comes down to it we can just import right.
Correct. Wii is region locked.

You can easily softmod it though. Just saying. Seems justified in this case.
Everyone should be like Sony and get Blu-ray!!![]()
“Had the religion of Christianity been preserved according to the ordinances of the Founder, the state and commonwealth of Christendom would have been far more united and happy than they are. Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”
"By their Fruits, you will recognize them..."
Softmodding is you can softmod the wii (modding without hardware), and make it do sexy stuff. Like change your console region so you can play this game. It'll be a real pain though as you'd have to constantly revert back and forth regions (reinstalling the mod).
Another, much doucheier option is to run pirating via softmod and just play this game that way.
The Last Story which looks awesome and Pandoras Tower which looks a bit crappy to me if im honest are coming out in Europe YAY!!! but only next year BOO!!!
Unfotrtunately no word on a US release. If they are worried about sales they should just do what Sony did and allow a different publisher to publish. Just The Atlus name alone holds so much weight that ppl will put down orders with zero doubt and thats what happened with Demon's Souls. Im sure Atlus would be happy to negotiate the rights to publish in the US.
Now if only we could get some freaking news on Dragon Quest X and Persona 5
Nintendo has confirmed that The Last Story and Pandora's Tower - two highly sought-after Wii RPGs - will be released in Europe next year.
The Last Story and Pandora's Tower, along with Xenoblade Chronicles, are a sort of holy trinity of Wii RPGs, with fans around the world begging for their release outside of Japan. While all three are still yet to be confirmed for North America, the two titles will be see a European release in 2012, while Xenoblade Chronicles hits UK store shelves this Friday.
The Last Story is developed by Mistwalker, the studio founded by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, and AQ Interactive. It features an interesting, strategic real-time battle system that makes use of non-traditional JRPG mechanics such as third-person shooting and cover. It also boasts online co-op and competitive modes.
Pandora's Tower follows Ende, a 22-year old former soldier who must battle through a mysterious monster-filled tower collecting (and consuming) the flesh of monsters in order to lift a curse placed on his friend Seres.
I do not think its concern or worry about the sales. I feel its more like stupidity and arrogance on NOA part having their head buried in the sand. Or does NOA have out of the left field move to bring the RPG's to WiiU as part of the release? If that is the case, they better work on improving the graphics. Something its truly amazing to see the d**k head move from the companies. Do the people in those companies live in alternate/parallel dimension?
Guys, I keep telling you that they went through trademark hell with those games. Why do you guys keep ignoring that?

Look at the filing date - Jan 13, 2010
Current Location: 700 -Intent To Use Section
While not shown in this filing ( Priority Date - July 16, 2009
A Priority Date means a date a trademark was filed for by another party that is challenging the application from Nintendo. Nintendo cannot fully use "The Last Story" until this is all cleared up. They were given a Notice of Allowance date on July 12, 2011 which allows them to move forward with the mark behind the scenes but not in public yet. Notice that Letters of Suspension were issued as well.
XenoBlade (originally known as Monado: Beginning of the World)

If they have been at it for 2 years (In the case of XenoBlade) it seems to me they should just change the name, they may get less sales but if it pushes on for another year or 2 they may miss their chance for good sales anyway...
This is just about the name isn't it, or am I missing something.

Word from Europe is that Xenoblade demand far exceeds stock.
If NOA really is gauging European sales before committing to a US release, I think their fears are now assuaged.
RPG's have definitely lost a lot of focus the past decade. The reduction in Japanese game influence and increase in the popularity of WRPG's probably has a lot to do with it.
Which makes me all the more excited about seeing 3 RPG's hit the Wii like this. And conversely all the more upset that they've had a shitty time trying to make it to our shores.
