    bravia

i know it probably shoudn't be here
but i couldn't find any info
so i have my bravia kdl40z4500 connected to my laptop
i use it to watch movies
the problem is the highest Hz i can set is 60Hz
    there are some standard drivers
although my laptop recognise it's sony tv
    but i was wondering
if there are some drivers for windows7 or something else
that would let me set something more than 60Hz ?
anybody know how to do this ?
becasue i know that there is alot of people here that are more into PC than i am

Well, maybe your TV can't do more as external display, 60 Hz is normal IIRC.
Or your graphics card can't do it with the high resolution (guess you're on FullHD?).

and this tv although not so new can itself do 200Hz which is maybe not real, just some kind of trick but it looks great when
i play blu-ray or something straight from ps3...

TVs usually do not support PC style resolution and frequencies, especially via HDMI. So the only things you can transfer to it are the standard one like 576i@50Hz to 1080P@60Hz and most things in between. Some TVs (my Bravia too) don't support 1080P via VGA either, but it does support some resolutions with 75Hz.

Question is, why would you want to do it and what do you want to achieve? Most panels in TVs can't switch this fast anyways, at least in extreme conditions (full contrast swap).

Keep in mind that the PS3, no matter what you set it to, never exceeds 60Hz at its output. IIRC in 3D mode, it does support frame packing (though I don't know which modes exactly) which blows up resolution, but not framerate. That's also the reason why 1080P only works up to 24P in 3D, not 60Hz like in 2D mode.

TV's are much different than computer monitors as far as refresh rate.

so if i understand good this fancy 200Hz MotionFlow is some kind of postprocessing effect that TV is doing?
then why it looks alot better when i play video from PS3 than from my computer through HDMI cable ?

It is a post process, correct. Why it looks better from PS3 than from PC I cannot tell.
