http://www.computerandvideogames.com...r=CVG-News-RSSThe shooter, which originally launched alongside the PlayStation Network on PS3, again uses twin-stick controls to blast the bejesus out of baddies around a planetary sphere, and it's described as one of the best looking games revealed for NGP so far.
Touch screen controls allow you to tap the screen and aim special weapons, swipe your fingers along the rear touch pad to adjust weapon power and shake the NGP to drop a smart bomb.

Very nice.
The bad thing about NGP is that it's going to divert development resources and prevent some potentially great games from appearing on PS3 or PS4. Just like the PSP case.
I mean, I don't really want to invest on a new system just to play games from franchises I like. My PSP just collected dust barring some exceptions, and generally I was never really satisfied with it. NGP should be something else entirely, but still, this is not how I want to play these games.

I'm not so sure. The NGP and PS3 aren't too different in terms of the games they're capable of running, and the controls are similar enough to allow developers to create ports from one to the other with relative ease.
If anything, this could be good for PSN games.

This is one game you don't want to take to the toilet with you. It's so addictive you'll lose your legs sitting on the can for 15 hours straight having lost yourself in SSD.
Wasn't there a woman who spent like 3 years sitting on the toilet? She only left it because his boyfriend was thoughtful enough to tell the police just then.
Now she wishes she had a Vita (or a life).

folks at IGN seem to love the game. Gave it the highest score out of most of Vita's launch titles.
“Had the religion of Christianity been preserved according to the ordinances of the Founder, the state and commonwealth of Christendom would have been far more united and happy than they are. Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”
"By their Fruits, you will recognize them..."
So I downloaded every demo/trial I can right? And I got to Super Stardust and am thinking "no way am I gonna want this, I got it on a 32" screen on PS3 and played it for 100s of hours so bah".
Well, guess what. The gameplay has some fundamental changes and it feels like a very new version of the franchise. Also the controls are very clever.
So this is one of the most surprising buys for me. What an amazing franchise SS turned out to be.
And you know what I am happiest about, a PS3 franchise moved to VITA and it didn't feel like 'same old but worse'. It's as, if not more, of a solid experience.
I wanted to buy it. The PS Store keeps saying my credit card is invalid though. I'll have to buy a pre-paid card later.
Sony NZ are being very dickish about this. You pre order a Vita, you get a code for $10 off four games, one of them is SSDD, but... They haven't issued the codes. Soo.... I can't buy this yet.
But I'm getting a lotta play out of Super Star Dust Portable. With the twin sticks on a Vita it's much more playable.
I'm not sure. It does show your best score for each mode and i think each difficulty though. I don't remember exactly what mine was but beat 4 planets and was on the last one before i lost. It showed my score at first, however I think when i clicked the internet button it wiped it? So maybe i wasn't online when i played so it didn't count.
Online is so weird on VITA, don't know when I'm connected or not. And this game is the most confusing, online icon comes and goes and sometimes I randomly get "Networks features have been disabled." notice. Needs patch or something. My wi-fi is fine, it's only this game that comes and goes.
Anyway, checked and your old score is up, lame. And scores for Casual and Normal are identical. Hm.

Yeah the online is very confusing on that. I had it say network features have been disabled on that game and it says it every single time you start ninja gaiden (which has no network features).
Also when patching a game it doesn't say "a patch is available" or force you to download one. On the game page there is a like yellow refresh button on the top left beside the web search and instruction manual.
Yeah, Everybody's Golf had a patch which only notified me when I tried to play online. One epic thing is though when you scroll down you get recent activities of you and friends regarding that game.
OK, SEN maintenance undergoing it says now. Maybe they are sorting couple of kinks out. It would have been better if we had a SEN app and in that app had two functions: Friends and Messages. So that way you could leave the SEN app up to be constantly connected and do the basic activities from within.
I am pretty excited to see what FW brings to VITA.
Been a long time since I've touched Stardust, I think I'm gonna get this new one.
Coming to a leaderboard near you soon
...maybe not VG's
New score to beat gents
I am going to go for 100% trophies soon, tried a couple of the special ones (Impact, Twin Gun etc) and man they are hard (drastically different controls + hard to do task = gonna need time).
