well at least we can now see how far back the lines have been pushed for MS. they'd sooner pile money into timed exclusive demos than new IPs. i suppose slowly starving your fanbase is better than suddenly cutting it off. at least they learned SOMETHING from the Xbox.

that was my line of thinking. Get some exclusive DLC or actually release 2 months before PS3 because Xbox was the lead platform. This, this just doesn't make any sense to me, even perception wise it doesn't seem substantial enough.
Doing this with COD makes sense, or maybe if Capcom released SF5 this year or something. A game that's super hot/current that everyone wants would fit the bill. but RE6

Throwing chump change for exclusives is much easier than funding development, and hey, why would anyone argue, 360 is doing great.
Sony is spending millions churning out AAA titles, funding studios and projects and is in 3rd place, MS buys out timed exclusive now and then and is in second.
You see it that way but millions other see it like "lol ms pwning sony again, early demo, yeah! psn is free, you get what u pay for." etc.
I mean logically, if you were MS, you would continue the current way too probably. It works.

more than likely, it will catch up to them though...Sony is not only building studios and making AAA titles, there building franchises and relationships.
Little Big Planet and Uncharted have bright futures. And when the playing field is more even online, it might also be a problem for MS if they continue to charge for Live yearly. That is if Nintendo or Sony can even get there service up current Live standards let alone offer new cool features.
Sony hasn't come close to taking 2nd place in World Wide sales yet? Holiday 2011 kinect deals really boosted 360 sales. Hard to snuff at MS for going so kinect heavy. The platform actually gave it a second wind.

Honestly who cares? You guys do realize if this game is shit then no one will play the demo right? Only fanboys that will try to justify the next Xbox Live price hike will likely care. Frankly they should be working their ass off to create a good demo for this game because nothing ive seen so far has made me even remotely interested and a demo code for RE6 sure as hell isnt going to convince me.

Who cares about an early demo, though? I mean, it's a freaking demo, nothing more. It makes me rather sad that the PC version won't come day one... which might mean I have to buy the game twice^^

It's all about the community and networking. All PS3-only people will be left out of something quite substantial. Omni you said RE6 doesn't have weight, it's announcement was the only gaming related stuff (outside E3 time), that made the most read list on the BBC site (site where majority of general public go).
Anyway, whatever, leave the marketing to boring ass suits, it's all about GAYMZ. *knows nothing of dragon's dogma and doesn't feel like watching the vids*
Got Alan Wake recently though, 360 graphically isn't as weak as I thought. And the game is pretty great so far.

"Quite substancial" is a bit of an overstatement, if you ask me... AGAIN. It's a DEMO! If the GAME came to 360 only, then'd we'd be in agreement. And the demo isn't even exclusive, it's just earlier on 360. Nothing else. Plus, you have to buy this game, too... I question this in general.

Just seems kinda far-fetched to me, perhaps MS has a better understanding of the market though and people really are that fickle.
btw--Dragon's Dogma is pretty much the console equivalent of Monster hunter, it looks really good actually. I think I'm gonna get it day one. So guys plz get the game so we can e-mpire level up together. games like this are amazing with friends.

No one is even going to remember where they played the demo first by November trust me. Now what is a smart move by MS is to allow free Xbox Gold access to 360 onwers on the day the Mass Effect 3 demo is released so that they can try out the online co-op. Subsidizing that is way smarter than this demo deal.
As for this game i dont know Omni. They tried the Lost lanet 2 co-op idea recently which also looked cool and ended up being terrible. Capcom trying the westernize their games have been massively disappointing as of late. Still i will try not to prematurely judge and i hope they release a very good demo because May is Witcher 2 month for me. Its going to need to be special to top that.
