They're doing the development. But they wanted our input on a couple of occasions and we've had loads of our people, our core group, who worked on the first two games, give input and it's awesome.

Good to know they keep in touch with the hearts and minds behind the IP. Not like anyone thought Rockstar was going to fuck up the source but it's good to know the creator is thrilled with how MP3 is coming along.

Hm... Max Payne 1 was recently unbanned in Germany, but if you preorder MP3 on Steam, you still don't get it for free... wtf.

It's 49€ in Germany, i.e. 64USD (incl. taxes), which I find ok... retail will be cheaper, for sure, but you probably won't get MP1 and MP2 for free that way... not that we get MP1 at all^^

It's strange, because Doom and (iirc) Quake were unbanned recently too, and those games aren't available for us in Steam either... dunno why they don't bother at all to reinstate these games. It's not like it costs them (the publishers) anything... just call up Gabe and tell him he can start selling those games in Germany, too. Set the database flag and be done with it.

Bought MP1+2 in the sales a while ago, might do a play through, they're not very couch friendly though, mouse + kb.

MP1 is tough as shit, I had to quick save every 5 seconds. I do suck with K+M though. Amazing game however, love the overuse of metaphors in the monologues. It's awesome and hilarious at the same time.

Wasn't a big fan of the visual of the commercial, just lots of bullet time clips put together and they couldn't show the hit/blood due to it being a commercial (so lacked the wow factor) but man the music is awesome. I think I'll get the soundtrack of this game.

GTA4 and RDR MP were meh for me (see, not a blind fanboy lol ), but it looks like Rockstar is giving it a proper go this time with MP3. Will check it out of course, hopefully it'll 'stick'.

The fresh link now says "DISC 1 INCLUDES FIRST PORTION OF THE SINGLE PLAYER GAME" so if that is to be trusted, definitely seems like 2 disc story. Good I was wondering which version to get. Wonder no more.

Yea, seems you only get half the single player if you rent it, that'll suck for anyone that doesn't read the description. Got to wonder what this means for GTAV.

@jbu3 @Wario64 @azeroth9 @AdamDork That Redbox info is not accurate. Redbox only ever rent out one disc, for any multi-disc game. Max is on 2 discs for 360, so Redbox will be renting disc 1 which contains half of the single player story and the full multiplayer game.

Got to wonder what this means for GTAV.

Seriously. I don't want to hate but I mean how can you not feel like 360 is going to hold back GTAV at this stage. As I doubt they'll make it 4 or whatever discs a 'true' GTAV would have been. Unless they go the "install all discs and play off one" route and say "f u" to no HDD / small HDD owners. Anyway we'll see.

So whole MP size < story's second half size. As they couldn't get 2nd half of story on first disc but could manage MP. Seems like a good lengthy game then.

That does work out pretty neatly by the way. Rent it to get x% of the game, if you like it, go buy it.
