Layer acceleration was set to false, changed it, but it looks like I can't activate it because of my graphics card.
Yeah it wasn't showing up for me at work (integrated card) but works here at home.
Both Firefox and Thunderbird have prompted me to the new version 12.

I didn't know about this: since FF 11 you can turn the new SPDY protocol on, and make some sites load faster.
Just set it to true. There is a network.http.spdy.enabled pref (default: false) on the about:config page.

Facebook seems to load a bit quicker this way indeed, could be my imagination though.

This thread is becoming pointless. Anyway, here's a rundown of the new features to be implemented up to Firefox 16:

Nothing too exciting to come, but it's nice to see that software I use every day is getting so much attention and polish.

I wonder if it'll make the Flash experience smoother. FF13 has been unstable, as the latest 11.3 Flash versions have been crashing. I still experience some weirdness with embedded youtube videos, which somehow merge with a given page's content (displaying text over the youtube preview window). Has anyone experienced these issues as well?
In other news, Mozilla will stop adding new features to Thunderbird soon, and it will then go on extended support, so that it'll only get security updates. I see that they can't really add much more to it (why won't they merge it with Sunbird / Lightning calendar addon?), but it still sucks.

I've been using Thunderbird for years and I love it. Just to be clear, I said that it sucks that they're not further improving it, even if there's little else to do about it (x64 version, please!).

I reverted both my desktop and laptop back to Flash 10.3 because 11.3 crashes my online text books every single time.
They released an update on the 11th that was supposed to fix the stability issues with Firefox but again I had to revert back to 10.3 because it didn't fix a damn thing.
FF 14.0.1 is available for download, although it may not prompt you yet.
Flash is still acting :-| No plugin updates as of now.

It's been a while since I've actively installed the latest updates prior to the prompt. Since most new features and benefits are now minor, my desire for the latest is minimized.
I tried the latest Flash beta that just came out. No luck.
