So is the final answer "yes" to the question, if Noah bought a game for me for Valentines Day and then played it on his Vita because I don't have one, I can't get trophies in the game when I get my own Vita and we have to rebuy 2nd copies of the games?

i doubt that! the game isn't locked to one console is it? you should be able to play the game you buy on 20 different Vita and each will get the trophies... or am i reading you wrong? i've read all sorts about the Vita and never ever seen a solitary thing about what you are describing. so i'm sure you'll be able to play the game on your Vita and still get trophies... in fact i'm damn well positive. the only concern was having more than one account on the SAME Vita. perhaps that's where the confusion is coming from.

They aren't locked to systems. The only thing is that games like hot shots golf have an online pass.

Well, did my own research this morning and I am right.

    http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/...ame-workaround

I guess I answered my own question. So, that's cool... you can't share Vita games & get trophies with someone you live with. How freaking stupid.

    Well, that sucks...

  6. Since games save on memory cards and the other user keeps his trophies, you can get Noah's card after he formats it and you can play it that way earning trophies and everything.

I mean the link you used is saying exactly that as a workaround.

Sucks that it has to be a workaround for you to be able to do that though. Surely they could just separate the files on different user profiles so that other users could earn the trophies. You're going to get families, couples or whatever, and they're not necessaily going to have a console each. It would be nice to have the option, as there's going to be a competetive aspect in wanting to get the same trophies that the other person has, or beating them at getting a particular one. Or even just the satisfaction of getting the trophy yourself, not being in the sitaution where you do something worth a trophy in a game, and you don't get anything. They've missd a trick there, I think.

  8. It would never work on one VITA because you are tied to one PSN. Trophies are on servers tied to your PSN so a separate file would make no difference in the example you are giving.

And in Lucent's case, formatting before handing the card to another person who has a VITA with her own account will work. Not a huge fuss I don't think unless the game saves on the card itself so you lose progress each time (but very small amount of games save on the card).

WTF? You can only use 1 game card on one Vita at a time unless you format the game card? Fucking hell that would inconvenient in my home.

Or am I understanding that wrong (possible...I'm on several shots of absinthe)?

  10. You can use it on any VITA you want, you just can't unlock trophies outside the 1st one BUT unless I'M missing something (on 4 beers and no sleep, staying up till shop opens for more beer), formatting does nothing since 98% of games save on the memory card.

So stop whining ffs everyone sheesh. I especially don't like people who criticise to criticise, if you get the system you most likely won't care and if you are not even planning to get it, you shouldn't care. I don't go around Apple forums criticising their products who the f cares, I have no intention of buying it anyway.

Is someone feeling a bit threatened by VITA?

It's more the fact that my family plays a lot of the same games. So under Vita it would seem like we'd need to reformat every time one of us wants to play the game or wait for each person to complete it 1 by 1.

Just seems odd you'd need to do that.

  12. Again, reformat only if you want trophies. Anyone can switch and play on another VITA otherwise. And are you planning to buy a VITA for each family member? Because if not you are stuck with one PSN anyway.

AND finally again, reformatting is such an easy thing that doesn't cost anything (unless the game saves on the cart) but a few seconds. So yes it is a bit odd I'll give you that but bloody hell talk about mountain out of an ant hill.

Dude, I'm 8 shots into some absinthe. Not trying to make a mountain from a molehill. Just trying to wrap my head around a concept. Not the easiest thing in the world to do at the moment. Ever try absinthe? Everything is weird on absinthe.

  14. I had all colours of absinthe, hell some colours it's not supposed to be I am sure. And yes I was very weirded out on all occasions. It's like somewhere between high and drunk....Very weird drink especially for someone who is not good at hard liquor to begin with (moi).

I only drink it now when I REALLY want a crazy night, which doesn't happen at all recently so I wonder wtf your plans are that you are sat by the computer drinking that shit.

You have clear the data that is stored on the card.
While it SEEMS like that means you keep your save that was on the memory card, I am wondering if it may actually make your save unplayable.
I haven't even bothered to play D3adcell's Vita once so far because I feel like #1, I can't use my account, and #2 if I like a game, I not only need my own system but I have to go freaking rebuy a game that my household already owns (or that was a present to me in the first place...).

I don't want to play on someone else's account. I want my save tied to my own name.

Is everyone not reading posts or has the whole world gone retarded.

FORMAT THE CARD AND THEN WHEN YOU USE IT ON ANOTHER VITA IT TIES IT TO YOUR ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES IT IS A BIT ODD AND ANNOYING BUT IT'S A SIMPLE PROCESS AND YOU LOSE NOTHING. (unless the game saves on the cart which many don't)

Lucent, Noah will format the cart, give it to you. And it will be like you just bought the game yourself.

Sorry for temper I am a lot tired and maybe I'M missing something but that's how I understood it and I don't know why everyone comes and goes asking the same thing when it's already clearly outlined in that link and posts after that.

Moronic system invented by Sony... first of all, the trophy information should be stored with your account, not the cartridge and second of all, why the heck lock someone out, but make it possible to unlock it, then? It's JUST an inconvenience for people like the ones in this thread, but not to (supposedly) second hand sales, as they don't care and just format...

Sony NEEDS to address this immediately.
    Kept you waiting

  19. I think they are stored on cartridge, to some extent anyway, for instant pop-up. On PS3 you have to wait a while for server to send you the 'bling'. EDIT: Actually this doesn't make sense because you can get trophies while offline...hm. Well I dunno lol.

It's goal isn't to target 2nd hand sales. But due to first 'problem' of it being stored to some extent on the card, they gotta have you reformat, otherwise the 2nd player would start the game and bling bling bling, get all the trophies the first player got soon as the game loads up.

I don't know, Sony has some complicated systems setup this gen so god knows how cart + VITA connection and trophy syncing with the card etc all that shizzle works.
I am pretty certain of what I said 2nd paragraph though.

And things like 2nd PSN account and this are core system designs I am pretty sure so can't be addressed.

Let's just be happy this is one retarded design you can easily overcome.

mmmm... i'm going to vex you once more lol... ahem:

so the trophies are saved on the game itself and you only have to format the 'game' card (or whatever it's called) for you to earn those trophies again? God i'm lost. what happens if you want to borrow the game and then hand it back to the original owner? does that mean that he/she would have to start from scratch again with the trophies. i just don't get this at all. LOL sorry, Masteratt
