  2. For serious.

There's a special kind of nerd though, who thinks computers will overtake mankind in thirty years, changing humanity in ways incomprehensible to us now, ignoring the third of the world without electricity. It gives spiritual significance to technology developed primarily for entertainment and warfare and gives nerds something to obsess over that isn't the crushing vacuousness of their lives.

I was expecting a partnership with platinum games, so Hideki Kamiya and Shinji Mikami would get involved, but I guess that would have just produced too good of a game .

Anyways, I'm glad the franchise is being rebooted, but I would definitely like something of it's aesthetic styling to be recognizable so I can say, "Yup, that's a DMC game".

Well, I at least hope they take the time to severally revamp the fighting engine of the game. I would like it to be more than a different coating of paint.

Nope you can see it even in the concept shots, I'm actually fine with the character and I'll reserve my judgement on the game until I see some gameplay.

It played, looked and felt exactly like a mediocre PS2 action game, in HD. Note, I am not talking about (just) the graphics, but everything. From the stiff animations to the controls and linear level design with invisible walls. And I also don't know why you are critisizing the music, of course it's a matter of taste, but was it really that much better in the past? At least they are not using some pop-music like Square for FFXIII.
I dunno about you but I felt that DMC4 was probably one of the best action games this gen. And yeah, it did suck compared to DMC1 or 3, but it was better then Heavenly Sword/NG2/Genji/Darksiders. It was pretty much the only real action game I beat more then once and that is saying a lot.

  9. Ninja Theory owns, DMC owns, so I'm expecting great things. Nice to see this turn out to be more than just a rumour!

NG2 is Better than Heavenly Sword/DMC4/Genji/Darksiders. Muahahaha...there I said it!

Anyways, something about that Dante concept shot reminds me of that one guy from twilight haha. Now that I think about it, why in the world did Capcom partner with Ninja Theory of all other game studios to make a new DMC? I say DMC6 should be another reboot with a partnership with Kojima productions.

On the subject of odd partnerships, i wonder what it wold be like if Epic Games partnered with capcom on a DMC. Then it will reach the epitome of Westernization..."Gears of Cry!"

  11. Devil of War. You gotta have 'of war' in there!

This dante doesn't look like a demigod, he just looks like a gay vampire. I hope Jaffe's comments are right and he's generic looking so that you "work up" to the cool dante in the trench coat we all know and love.

I'm all for giving stuff a chance, so you can't right the game off yet, but initial impression is a big and even more

Doesn't look like DMC at all, hopefully, it plays well and Dante changes throughout the game to look less gay. Like seriously, he looks like Edward Cullin when he's angry, what's up with that design choice?

Even if they wanted to make him look more like a real person or more universal, why did they change his hair color?

  15. And if they take out the Sword launch -> bullet juggling there will be hell to pay.

Well at least he smokes like a girl. That should count for something.

As for design, well if it is done well does it really matter if it is western or eastern.

^No it doesn't...but this looks tailored toward an American audience with the vampire look...

And what was that techno wowzerz music playing? Where's the dark and gothic piano music??!?!

urggh...Devs need to learn how to change stuff for the better...I'm beginning to hate most mainstream games now.

Capcom seems dead set on westernizing all of their games. In most case not for the better.

This Dante seems more at home in a Twilight movie than DMC.
