I'm a lazy man so I can't comment on the content of the article but the score: Isn't that score a bit low for the RPG of the DECADE?
There is probably a RPG in the last decade they rated better than 94...surely.
A decade ago, Ps2 kick-ass RPGs were running wild for example. Surely one of them beat it.
So what I'm saying is: Unless someone gets me their ratings for the last 10 years for every RPG and none of them got higher than 94, it is indeed a bit over-hyped statement.
Demo later today![]()
well scores don't reflect reviewers consensus of a game many times. I've watched a few Gametrailer reviews where they will talk like they absolutely adore a specific aspect of a game, but then rate it an 8.2 or something which is inferior to a game they said was "been there done that, but still good".
So perhaps, they wanted to highlight how the game isn't perfect, but is one of the best RPG's they've ever played. I for one, believe that if it's the best RPG you ever played, it's faults are overshadowed by the level of enjoyment you received from the game, and should certainly give it my highest score.
“Had the religion of Christianity been preserved according to the ordinances of the Founder, the state and commonwealth of Christendom would have been far more united and happy than they are. Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”
"By their Fruits, you will recognize them..."
So what's the verdict on the demo?
I found it way easier than the first few mins of Dragon Age 1 I've played, but that was on PC. And yeah I've really enjoyed this, it was like Mass Effect but with a slightly more complicated tactics screen and stuff. The battles were a more interesting as well for me, although keep having to Tap X to attack is a bit tedious, maybe in full version they'll have an option so you'll issue the command once and it'll automatically do the normal attack until special orders are issues. That was my only (very small) issue.
I think I'll buy it. I'm really digging BioWare's framework for making RPGs.
Also demo was supposed to unlock a dagger or something as AC!D posted on here but I didn't get any confirmation once I've finished the demo? Also there are no save files or game data on the PS3 system relating to Dragon Age 2 so I wonder how it's gonna know I should have the dagger? Probably EA account synch? Dunno.

Impressions: holy shit this game is amazing. nuff said
I think the demo actually made the game look bad. I played as a rogue and the combat felt like it was on autopilot, there was really no strategy because it was so damn easy. The areas in the demo didn't seem to have much detail and didn't look very good at all.
I'm going to end up buying the game because I really liked the first one and believe this one will be just as good. I just do not believe the demo did it justice.
Make sure you are logged into the EA servers. Also watch any final cutscene or credits if there are any after the game and you should get it. Thats what they are saying on the forums anyways. I havent tried the demo myself but apparently its the beginning of the game and should be quite easy so im not worried that it wont be very challenging. Ill download the demo and give it a go tomorrow though. A demo just cant do the scope of any Bioware justice though so like D3adcell im not too worried.
Dragon Age II - Exiled Prince DLC Gameplay Trailer
I honestly cant say im impressed with this move EA.Like they did with Dragon Age: Origins; BioWare and Electronic Arts are launching the additional DLC for Dragon Age II on the very first day the game is released. The DLC is called "The Exiled Prince", and is going to cost $7 or 560 MS points.
Well I think the day 1 dlc with origins was the stone prisoner which came with all new copies.
I think warden's keep was also available day 1.
They said with the release of ME2 that they were going to be doing the extra dlc with new copies of game to try and deter people from buying used. Or if they do buy used EA would still get smethin out of the gaame because they may buy the dlc.

liking the triple post there
Update: It looks like the DLC comes free with Signature editions. We should be fine but the rest are shit out of luck.

We have the game in the back at work (so hard not to 'take' one). The back does say this is a DLC that comes with the game. It is with new copies just like the stone prisoner.
I can't wait until monday night!
My worst fears have been realized. Ive gone through tons of reviews and it sounds like inventory managment is almost completely gone, the story is unfocused, you stay in a single city for the entire game having seen all the architecture it has to offer in the first third of the game and they cut the game time from Origins in half. So its basically linear like FFXIII. Everything about this game screams rush job, DA version 1.5 and not catering to the fanbase. I didnt mind ME2 simplifying too much because its action/shooting RPG gameplay works better without spending too much time in menus but why oh why would they cut the core design ethos of a strategy RPG out almost completely????
I am so disappointed Bioware and i hope this game bombs so you guys learn!!!!
