^Nice!
I tried the first one on PC and I'll be honest, I was too noob at it (to be fair I didn't spend too much time trying to get used to it) and heard console versions were more friendly/ easier so I might give the second one a go on PS3.
Although I don't like RPGs when you get control of multiple characters, I know I can ignore that and just play with one as the game has pretty good AI control, but I dunno. I just want to be "me" in a game.
Anyway just wanted to express my 2cents on the franchise and everything looks good for the 2nd. Hopefully I'll get a chance/ time to buy and try it out.
Depends... on my first playthrough, I played as a magician and without much tactics and such... and I SUCKED... needed to play on easy in many occasions (love that you can easily change difficulty mid session). On my second play as a rogue I didn't have any problems at all. (PC version here)
This game definitely had a learning curve. But it wasn't unfair in any regard. Though, pre patch, magicians got MUCH TOO powerful after reaching a certain level.
Kept you waiting
Nice interview with the lead designer on DA2. He talks about the new art direction, combat depth, changes from DA Origins and much much more:
Oh by the way DA2 has officially gone gold as of yesterday so Bioware fanboys rejoice
Just three more weeks baby yeah!!!![]()
I might give this a go but if there is anything I've learnt from ME2 (still waiting for that patch may I note..) is that: Don't buy a BioWare PS3 release on Day 1.
Awesome vid btw, thanks (just watched it). Maybe it's because I'm paying more attention than before but devs are definitely being more open about how they go about things lately.

I dont know what to tell you. This patch thing is becoming a bit of a joke. Either Bioware are lying and the patch wasnt submitted 2 weeks ago or Sony are just useless in this department. Chris Priestly did come out on the forums 2 days ago telling us theres nothing new to report since his last post. I guess that means its up to Sony. All i can tell you is hold on to your copy because if you dont like this game by the end of your playthrough i will send you a refund personally via Paypal ok? Thats how much i think you will enjoy this!!!
As for Dragon Age 2 i cant give you the same recommendation because you strike me more as an action gamer. You spend about 35 to 40% of the game in menus, forming strategies and equiping your character abilities and equipment. This combat system also has about 1000% more depth than Mass Effect 2 so i would suggest you try the demo which is coming out next week on PSN. Then again my assumptions about Omni maybe not liking Mass Effect because theres too much action with Dragon Age 2 being more up his alley was wrong so what the hell do i know!!!
Well, you are half-right lol. I don't mind the menu stuff if it doesn't take too long to 'get'. And if the game 'grips' me, I don't care if it takes 10hours to get comfortable with the dept behind the menus and options, it's just a matter of if the game 'clicks' with me basically. There is no way to pre-tell which RPG will 'click', I just gotta play it.
I didn't know about the demo so that's definitely great to hear and will make it easy to decide.
DRAGON AGE 2 DEMO - FEBRUARY 22
Shit i was not planning on playing the demo but now they have forced my hand with the free weapon. The entire world stands on the brink of war, and you are the one person at the center of it all. On February 22, 2011, BioWare™ will release a demo for Dragon Age™ 2, allowing gamers on all platforms to experience a portion of this epic action RPG. Featuring enhanced graphics, faster, more responsive combat and a gripping storyline, the Dragon Age 2 demo is your chance to find out firsthand why IGN, Game Informer, MTV and The New York Times' Seth Schiesel have endorsed Dragon Age 2 as one of the most anticipated games of 2011.
In the demo, players will venture through the game's prologue, choosing from three different character classes. They'll also learn more about Hawke and hone their skills and abilities that will make them the ultimate hero. After finishing the prologue, players will enter a key new location in the world of Dragon Age, Kirkwall, befriending Isabela, a romantic interest in the game who is also a deadly smuggler. Upon completion of the demo, players will unlock a special weapon, Hayder's Razor, an ancient dwarven blade which increases health, mana, and combat abilities, in the full release of Dragon Age 2.*
This demo represents just a small taste of what Dragon Age 2 has to offer. With a whole new realm to discover, and an all-new hero to become, players will go deeper into the world of Dragon Age unlike ever before in an adventure that shapes itself around every decision you make. The time has now come to engage in action-packed, dynamic combat that allows you to think like a general and fight like a Spartan! The legend of your rise to power, begins now!
Dragon Age 2 will be available on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system and PC on March 8, 2011 in North America and March 11, 2011 in Europe
Yup, pretty much have to play the demo now.
I agree with the demo and the Mass Effect 2 one wasnt very impressive either but by now im sure ppl know the wonderful stories Bioware create for their games so combat is definitely where this demo should be at.
Speaking of story im really loving the way this one is structured with you creating the legend of Hawk as you play by the choices you make. Thats leaves some amazing threading to leverage a couple of playthroughs out of us. It sounds much better than the Origin stories which basically only really affected mostly the beginning of the game.
Definitely gonna check out Origins after my second playthrough of ME2. Loving Bioware right now...

Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”
"By their Fruits, you will recognize them..."
WOW! You already finished your first playthrough. Good stuff. We have a new Bioware fanboy![]()
lol...well almost, heading out to battle the collectors soon, I know it's close to to the end because I remember reading about the last few battles on forums a while back. Itching to play as Vanguard.

I've always wondered about that. Which save in your career profile does the next game then use? Say you have three finished saves in one career profile wont their be problems? Probably a stupid question but i never tried it because i always prefered the multiple playthrough approach so i could try out all the different classes.
Anyways here is some PS3 footage for those interested in getting the console version and fear not since the console versions were not ported outside Bioware like last time for DAO. Each version has their own internal Bioware team working on it FYI if anyone cares.

Every time it you finish the game it creates a end save file. In ME3 you should be able to choose which one you want to use.
