Thread: The PSP's analog stick sucks!!!

  1. The PSP's analog stick sucks!!!

yes, i've played it and tried it out so trust me, it blows.

    j/k

Anyways, I really dislike the design and position of the PSP's anolog stick. It doesn't seem that it'll be to comfertable to use. It doesn't even look like an analog stick. It looks like a button, or something. How the heck can an analog stick work if it's not a stick. I also think an analog stick on a handheld is a bad idea. The End.

  2. My Neo Geo Pocket Color has an analog stick and it works wonderfully. Analog > d-pad.

  3. I wouldn't put both on there. One or the other, please.

  4. I think the analog stick is the greatest thing about PSP. I mean the screen, graphics, etc. is nice, but I'm envious of the analog, and Nintendo is really just stupid to not include it.

The analog works beatifully and is the very fitting.

I have played it at e3 and at other secret meetings (involving some company that will remain quite) and I have to tell you it feels great. It's ment to switch your hand arround it differently to use the dpad or analog.

They showed this at e3 and you would have to be a moron not to figure that out.

One thing... How do you play it and not know how the analog works? Hmmm why do I not believe you... Just a thought.

    E-mpired out - PEACE!

Answer me this Nights, compared to a mouse pointer, how does it feel...does it feel like a analog stick, I mean like a honest to god analog stick...

Edit: and when I say that, I mean does it allow a feeling of unlimitless freedom, or a slow or jecky response...now go play a console and you'll see what I mean by that..

Analog stick is a must for 3d games. Mario 64x4 will feel like shit on a D-Pad.

Very true, but I think it will be worth playing the ds either way. They haven't said it won't have one, and they know the importance of the analog stick, they were one of the first to add it to there system...they knew that the D-pad never felt right on the 64, so they added it as a feature...I really do think the final one will have one, but if they don't they don't, end of story...

If you're playing a 2-D game, although even then analog is supreme. You have complete control (360 degrees, something a D-Pad cannot even touch, and IS a neccesity for 3-D games, the DS will suffer without one), and it gives you the ability to go at certain speeds, push to the right slightly, you crawl, a little more you walk, all the way and you run for your life, analog is the greatest thing that ever happened to controllers.

the DS that we've all seen isnt the finished product. apparently they are going to put an analog onto it

  12. Well...when i play DBZ Budokai on GC i use the D-pad instead of the stick...when im playing Syphon Filter i use the D-pad instead of the analog stick...when im playing MGS i use the D-pad instead of the analog stick...any game that i have a choice between the analog stick or the D-pad...i ALWAYS pick the D-pad

  13. always? eww...

^You are probably the first person that likes the D-Pad over the analog in 3D games. That analog stick on the PSP is a great feature to have. I really think the DS should have one.

i like the idea of an analog stick...but i want to know how far it sticks out...seems like the 1st thing to break on the thing would be the stick if its out too far.
    May Peace Be With You

Yes, but No mention has been made of an anolog being added, we're all just hoping, and the odds are actually pretty slim, if they wanted to add an anolog they would've added before, but you never know, hopefully they will figure out how needed it is for all 3-d gaming.

  18. well...with it being a portable with an analog stick...itll look gay...

it would probably look like this( with an analog stick ) http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/news/def...mediamode=free

  19. ^ It looks fine on the PSP, in fact, most people were unaware that it was an anolog stick, they thought it was a speaker because it's specially designed for a portable, so it's smaller, and fits quite nicely, look at some PSP photos.

Except they would make it covered instead of sticking out.
