    Visa giftcards?

Yea, but I think CrazyboneXXX wants to use a giftcard from say PSN anywhere he pleases.

Reading back on it, the idea I posted is pretty much just like a debit card. A debit card without a bank.

Say I want to buy a new game on the Games Marketplace. It cost 10 dollars. I can walk into my local gaming store with the cash in hand and say, "I'd like to put 10 dollars on a Microsoft/Playstation card, please." They take my cash and put it onto a Microsoft/Playstation card and it acts exactly as a usual Microsoft/Playstation point card would work. Once you buy the card initially, you don't have to buy another. In that regard, it'd work just like how a debit card would except there's no bank involved. Downside is, you'd actually have to leave your house to make such transactions.

This idea would never work though, because the "You only have to buy the card once and can put whatever amount deemed necessary" thing wouldn't go over too well with companies.

While in that case I'd like to recommend the pre-paid visa route I do know that the Visa card activation process is a bit of a bitch and paying $5 for the "privilege" of using the card probably doesn't make sense when you want to buy a $10 game.

All in all after numerous hacks this year on CC info and what not, I've gone back to using giftcards for purchases. I buy the PSN cards and for my Amazon orders I get giftcards through the script program at church to give those sneaky hackers less access to my bank/cc info. That said someone at the store/church could also rip me off just as easily. so /shrug.

Speaking of Amazon orders, why isn't e-mpire an amazon affiliate?

Hmm. Well I remember one point that idea was on the table. I'm actually not sure why it never went into fruition. It's something that will have to be discussed with @Viper

Amazon affiliate is one of those idea that got lost in a long list of implemented and not implement ideas.

I'll add it back to the list of things to look into.

Good move for MS, while I never had to deal with it (as I don't own a 360) it always looked from the outside looking in as a crappy system for the customer.

The Witcher 2 dated for Xbox 360; new details.

As promised earlier in the week, developer CD Projekt has tagged the upcoming Xbox 360 version of its praised fantasy RPG, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, with a solid release date.

Announced on a conference call the company held today, the game — hailed by the developer as “an adaption” and not a simple port of a PC game, and fully titled The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings: Enhanced Edition — will release on April 17th.

The game also comes with a new control system, new camera system, improved character panel, locations, 2 major adventures, important characters, 33 minutes worth of new movies etc. The game will ship on two discs, and an extra soundtrack disc.

In addition, there will be a Dark Edition, which included everything the standard edition does, plus a making of DVD, decals, metal Witcher’s head medallion, and an art book. It’ll retail for $80.

PC users will be getting the Enhanced Edition as well, also on April 17th.
Im in RPG heaven this year

Alright some real gameplay footage this time, with continued trend in bad acting.

I know you are just joking but i have to post this and just ask....Is this the limit of what the most powerful PC games at the moment are looking like considering Witcher 2 is arguably the best looking game on PC at the moment?

    PC VS 360 SCREEN COMPARISON.

Please tell me PS4 and Nextbox will be way way more powerful than this? I know theres the whole framerate issue also but i dont really care because 60+FPS games give me headaches 50% of the time. I know thats my own personal issue and 60+FPS IS A GOOD THING but lets talk purely graphics now. The resolution is a factor but 1080p games have never wowed me over 720p that much either. The Xbox version of Witcher 2 looks superb to me I sure as hell hope next gen consoles are way way more productive than this or i dont see the point of them coming out next year. Maybe PC devs are way behind with the tech thats out there and im guessing its going to take someone like Santa Monica, Naughty Dog or Epic to show us what next gen will truly be like? Or maybe im just being unfair because amazing graphics with scale isnt really visible in these screens?

I just hope the game is worth it. PC gamers tend to have a different mindset to console gamers. They see incredible looking games like Crysis and suddenly its the greatest FPS ever and you know how disappointed with that game in the gameplay department i was.

Hm... best looking? I'd say tech wise, it is in the top 5 games out there... though the assets often could need some work. But you also need to keep in mind that CDPR isn't the biggest dev studio out there. They surely aren't small by any means, but compared to the studios Sony owns, this is a SMALL studio and it was a game with a considerably smaller budget than say Uncharted or so... and I consider this game equal in terms of "epicness". In my opinion, it's a lot better than Skyrim, too... but that's also a taste thing..

but coming back to graphics. From the games I own, this one takes the cake. And I own a lot of PC games. It also runs pretty darn well for how good it looks... But I also played this game set to maximal settings (except supersampling, which was too much for my GPU) and 1080P... and it still ran way beyond 30Hz at nearly all times. I cannot, for the love of god, imagine this game looking on 360 as good as it does on PC. The texture work alone is miles beyond ANYTHING you can expect from a console game. And all that, with a streaming engine, too. This game uses about 20GB on PC. Though the structure of the game easily allows for a 2 disc release.

And, the screenshots... with THAT size and compression, you don't see any differences... because they are scaled away and compressed to hell. If you open the unresized image directly, you can see major differences just from glancing over. Lighting, textures, resolution (and probably DOF, but the 360 doesn't really show real DOF, so I can't say for sure) and most likely framerate will never be as good.

    And... yadda yadda, bla bla...

This game has great gamepad support, though^^
    Kept you waiting

@ Segitz --> Well i guess its wishful thinking on my part but im hoping for something close to the Samaritan Demo to be achievable for next gen. Any chance of that if we assume a 2013 launch for Nextbox and a 2014 launch for PS4?
