Eurogamer.PS3 exclusive JRPG Ni No Kuni out in Europe Q1 2013

With English and original Japanese voiceover.

PlayStation 3 exclusive Japanese role-playing game Ni No Kuni launches in Europe in Q1 2013.
Publisher Namco Bandai is localising the Studio Ghibli and Level-5 collaboration, adding English voices and subtitles in French, Italian, German and Spanish.
The game also includes the original Japanese voiceover, which you'll be able to listen to with English subtitles.
"We have worked very hard on Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and it has been a great honour to collaborate with Studio Ghibli and [composer] Joe Hisaishi, so it was important for me that players outside Japan also have the best experience of the game we can give them," said Level-5 boss Akihiro Hino.
"To make this possible, we decided to invest the time in localising the game so that as many people as possible across Europe can enjoy the full experience in their own language."
Ni No Kuni has a Western subtitle of Wrath of the White Witch. The name refers to a magical world into which the hero, a 13-year-old boy called Oliver, can travel, using a magical book given to him by a fairy disguised as a doll. The game appears to take place between two realities: the real world, and the land of Ni No Kuni.
i really like that they keep the original voiceover on disk.

    edit.
wtf ?! i just noticed that it is Q1 2013...
    i was thinking it's Q1 2012...

It's probably early 2012 for North America and early 2013 for Europe.

I will live. This year im blessed with fantastic RPG's so saving one for next year might not be such a bad thing. I hope they use the same bunch of fantastic british actors Dragon Quest VIII, Xenoblade and The Last story are using. They are much better than the American bunch Square and Level 5 normally use.

I already have it. Im just finishing up the end of Skyward Sword and playing through the ME3 demo to get more Amalur unlocks before i begin my play. Its kind of stupid to release a game and then release another games demo five days later to unlock exclusive weapons for that game but hell what are you going to do right? Go EA!

i played the demo and i haven't liked it.
art style in that game is awful
and even the basics like charakter movement was just bad for me.
and i finally accepted the size of my penis so i don't really care how huge this game is.
and i assume you gave up dalksiders for that game...?

I really like Amalur, and the art style is actually one of its strengths in my book but to each his own I guess.

the demo is absolutely NO indication of how great this game is. this game is more fun and far more interesting than Skyrim. the graphics are great IMO and the environments are varied. there are so many quests, side quests and errands to do that it's almost too daunting at the beginning, but once you start playing it i guarantee you'll not want to put it down. and yes, Darksiders will have to wait because right now i'm 42 hours into an RPG that has me more interested in that genre than any other game i've played so far on the PS3. if this had released before Skyrim and the graphics whores could see through the polygons, it would have scored 9.5 on average easily. it's scored 8.0 average anyway, so it's still seen as a remarkable achievement

    i don't fucking get it.
    this game is finished.
would it be so hard to have somebody
    doing simple english subtitles localisation
while the game was in the development ?
then release it for people who want it that way
    even only with pre orders
    and then let the others
    who want dubbing wait...

this makes too much of it....thus the world will never make sense
“Had the religion of Christianity been preserved according to the ordinances of the Founder, the state and commonwealth of Christendom would have been far more united and happy than they are. Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”

I believe that they were translating during development because they were going to release it world wide. There are a lot of issues with localization, especially with RPGs which have a lot of dialog and printed text which all have to be changed, they probably wouldn't start that process until after release to have the final versions of the game because will probably get a 3rd party to do it.
