Yes, I can speak Japanese I play a lot of imported Japanese games, look at the Yakuza threads for example. I just got the new Idolm@ster 2 game, but I have yet to play it.

With the latter part of this week being a holiday hopefully I can get some play time in and report back. I am kinda backlogged with games atm. I still need to beat Tales of Vesperia for the PS3, that and many other games on my radar lol.

They didn't file Bankruptcy, they are just going to fully merge with Namco Bandai. I believe they were in a bad financial situation which is why they will be absorbed in to the main company. This is effective Jan 1 2012.

Last summer, it was revealed that the studio's debt has piled up so that it has surpassed the studio's total assets, making the developer insolvent. The TaLes Studio accumulated a debt of 21 million dollars and posted an annual loss of one million dollars.

2010 was a rough year for the studio. Early that year, one Tales game was even recalled.

At the time, I thought no way would Namco shutter the Tales Studio. I was wrong. The studio will be dissolved and swallowed up by its parent company, Namco Bandai. The Tales Studio's story is over.

However, don't expect Namco to kill off Tales games. Expect more Tales games. Always expect Tales games.
as i understand tales Studio did filed the bankruptcy was shutted and then just people working there where swallowed by namco bandai.

sales of this game are terrible in Japan. What has happened to this industry? i really hope Japan doesn't follow the West in it's obsession with guns and wars

sales of a title aren't always a reflection of how good a game is, and Japan's video-game ecosystem is a lot different than U.S/Euro. Portables dominate over there and Japan sales tend to be highest for the "usual" title release. Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, Pokemon etc...

I think the Last Story opened up pretty good though and Tales games do good over there, so perhaps there wasn't a lot of hype for the game, or it's not that good Gotta wait and see...but from my perspective it looks like a AAA JRPG, and a day one for my PS3

I think this has more to do with the massive drop in quality for RPG's released by Level 5 in recent times.

Since DQVIII really. Though I do plan to try this one unless it's a complete disaster.
