Thread: Steam Sales Thread

I bought Plants Vs. Zombies for $5 a few days ago and I'm thinking about picking up the Warhammer 40k games at their reduced rate for the weekend.

portal 2 is almost out on steam. Couple of mins.
☑ First they ignore you (Pre-2007)
☑ Then they laugh at you (2007-2008)
☑ Then they fight you (2008-2010)
☑ Then they copy you (2011-2012)
    ☐ Then you win...

Dead Space 2 still isn't available in Germany and probably will take another two years or so to arrive (similar to say San Andreas, which was only released recently here).

Bought the Crysis pack... 5€ for 2 such games is ok^^ And I need something to put my new PC parts through their paces... Crysis 2 got NO sale... very weak, considering it was even 50% off in EAs own store...

Got my parts today... sadly, the boxed CPU still don't include thermal paste by default and I need some for my old aftermarket cooler (Zalman 9700). The boxed cooler is loud as hell when the CPU gets above 50°C.

GPU is great... didn't have any motivation to play anything, though...

Next up... new LCD with 3D support!

My i7 rarely gets above 35°C when gaming. The fan it came with works really well.

woah 5 buxs for Operation FP. I dunno if the game is any good but 5 buxs is a damn good deal. I'll probably buy it.

Fable 3 & The Witcher 2 is coming out tomorrow. Also Dirt 3 is coming out in a week and Operation FP: Red River is coming out in three weeks. If you pre purchase Dirt 3, you get Dirt 2 for free (you can gift it to someone else if you want).

  15. I like these guys because they keep the PnC genre alive and have a nice style so I have pre-purchased their next game 'Yesterday' and Steam was kind enough to give me a copy of The Next Big Thing. Which is a game I already have but I can gift it to someone here. So if anyone wants it, let me know.

I'd love to take it off your hands, looks like a lot of fun, but I know i don't have the time to give it the go that it deserves.

I didn't like Runaway 1... never played the rest. Found that the puzzles were MUCH TOO complex (i.e. either required pure luck or trial and error) for its own good.

  18. I agree with you on one of the Runaways, can't remember which. But yeah one of them really annoyed me to the point where I thought "f this" and I just walkthrough'ed through the game. Very lame I know but hey.

I really liked the others though, and The Next Big Thing is pretty damn good so far. Although maybe the balance tipped a LITTLE bit too much to the easy side (had no real trouble and I am 4.2 hours in). It's very hard to balance these games but them being balanced 'ok' to 'good' level and mostly the good writing (had a few chuckles and lols in all their games), means their games are a wonderful adventure to be a part of for me.

Plus I just love PnC games to begin with. After finishing off TNBT and after 'Yesterday', I've got 5 episodes of new Monkey Island waiting Which will hopefully time itself nicely into the Double Fine PnC adventure.

Monkey Island is... not bad. But looking back on it, there were several things that make me "what were they thinking". But for a long time SoMI fan, it's a worthy sequel... a LOT better than MI4.

  20. Pre-order of Torchlight II gave me Torchlight1 which was already gifted to me by someone else so if anyone wants Torchlight1, let me know.
