According to Craig Harris on IGN, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, Paper Mario AND Kid Icarus were all pre-rendered.

Take this with a grain though because from what I saw, Paper Mario looked in game...it HAD ingame moments (attacking, walking around et...) and same for Kid Icarus...it looked completely ingame because it showed in game sequences. Kingdom Hearts was just like the PS2 game.

The only one that is iffy is Resident Evil...it looked way too good, but who knows. It had a shiney hue on Chris's arms that resembled the same shiney hue in many oher 3DS games, including MGS3DS that was all ingame...that looked way better than Peace Walker for the PSP, which yes I have played. Played it on a PSP Go @ E3 again to be extra sure.

Desired: Zelda Wii, Batman Arkham, 3DS
    Present: Mass Effect 2
    Future: None.

I'd say that it might not be able to push more polygons than Wii but the shader effects and lighting are a step up.

With the RE demo, you could control the camera, zoom in or out, pause it and do all that as well. You can't do that with a CGI movie. Has to be rendered on the fly.

  3. Aight Sony where's PSP2? PSP is on it's last leg. 6 years later, 3DS is a BEAST.

There's a special kind of nerd though, who thinks computers will overtake mankind in thirty years, changing humanity in ways incomprehensible to us now, ignoring the third of the world without electricity. It gives spiritual significance to technology developed primarily for entertainment and warfare and gives nerds something to obsess over that isn't the crushing vacuousness of their lives.

Seeing how Sony is pushing big time for 3D, it would be kind of ironic for their next hand-held (whenever it's announced) not to have 3D lol.

Anyways, I so want a 3DS. I hope it won't be too expensive. I actually wouldn't mind playing RE4 on the 3DS now that I think about it (hopefully Revelation will be more akin to RE4 than RE5 at least).

Really???.....you could change the camera angle??????? If thats the case then that definitely means its real-time......I need to see a video....... if you could change the angle of the camera.....and not just pan left or right.......then we ave our answer.....if you just pan left or right like moving a flat picture across a flat plane.....then that doesn't tell us anything..... so which is it Vipster!!!!lol

  6. Just going by the edginess around the outline and a graphics demo Ive seen what the 3DS GPU can do it seems more than possible. The GPU seems to work quite differently than the ATi one in Wii. It seems like all the HD effects are able to be applied to GC quality models. Really imo it looks like this system can do better visuals than Halo 2, Riddick, HL2, etc on Xbox (Not PC mind you).

I really enjoyed RE on DS and this looks like this will be great. Also, I cant think of anytime Capcom has ever lied about graphics...

You panned left, right, up, down and all in between. But you could also zoom and in doing so you could see the culling of polygons and textures. Something that cannot happen with a video.

i just had to post this

“Following last week’s announcement that Capcom currently has two titles, Resident Evil: Revelations and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (tentative title), in development for the Nintendo 3DS the first trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations has just been released and is now available for download from our press extranet. Featuring appearances from Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine the trailer is rendered in real time using the game engine.” - Capcom email

It should also be noted it was running on the MT Framework engine.

That's pretty damn fast to have that up and running after only having the SDK for a couple of months.

I really hate Chris Redfield. I wish they would use Leon instead.

Sweet, so with 3DS + Move I can get my Wii and DS fix. 3DS for all the Nintendo stuff, Move for all the motion stuff. I am really glad the 3DS is way better technically than DS...I want a higher end hand held with a large library of games.

I know exactly what you mean. Its becoming really hard to justify buying any Wii games except the truely special ones especially since the 3DS announcement but i wont elaborate because i know i will be chewed out again.

That trailer is damn impressive for a handheld. Consider me absolutely floored.

Yea, i am right there with you man. There is nothing to get chewed out for...not everyone likes what Nintendo is offering on the Wii, myself included. I played No More Heroes 2 on it so far and it's the only game I cared for on that system. Besides, Wii tech on the go is a lot more appealing to me than Wii tech on the 46" HDTV.

I'm gonna wait a bit before I jump onto 3DS to see what Sony is gonna do. One thing I learned from experience is Portable machines are not really for gaming on the go for grownups that work and have families. It's really just another console, and I'm not plopping down another $200 for one unitl I know it has a least 5-8 must-have games that I'm gonna play and some continued support for 3 years or so.

but ATM, it's looking like I'm gonna trade a few things in and get a 3DS..Even if Sony matches it feature for feature and puts a Cell in it, games is the final decision, RPG's and story games in particular.

There's already 5-8 (more actually) games I absolutely want. Never seen a pre-launch list like this one before.

And now Miyamoto is talking about remaking Super Mario World in 3D on it using the 3D perspective as part of the platforming elements (said imagine Bullet Bills flying behind you, in front of you [between Mario and the screen] and obviously right at you).

You should start a thread with the top 10 games for 3DS...I haven't seen any must-haves yet, Unless kirby is on 3DS too!!! WOOOT!!!!

I also want to get that game from Level 5, it should be two completely different games given the platforms its on.

Now being a total ass here.Does the demo itself lend any idea how it plays?I will be totaly pissed if it ends up being as big a letdown as RE5 was.I couldnt even bring myself to beat it,it just lacked compared to 4 so much. Im praying it doesnt have a 2player system.I dont want a coop RE game in 3d just yet.

No. It was simply a demo to show what they can do graphically and the 3D capabilities. The style of the game itself may not even be finalized yet.

  20. Just finally watched the video and all I can say is WOW! I cannot wait for this game, and I'm with Jimmy I wasn't even there and just going by Nintendo's list of upcoming games there is already plenty of reasons for me to get one, at least 5 for me, and 3 for my lady.
