OG, it seems you posted some screenshots for an Uncharted game or something since those don't look like they belong to Gears at all.

haha yeah it does look too much like Uncharted. Those shots are just from the new Unreal Engine which Gears 3 will obviously use so just slapped it in here with that video.

move this to the uncharted thread
☑ First they ignore you (Pre-2007)
☑ Then they laugh at you (2007-2008)
☑ Then they fight you (2008-2010)
☑ Then they copy you (2011-2012)
    ☐ Then you win...

lol ya know, maybe it's just s hidden message to say the 360 could pull off Uncharted visuals. Otherwise they used a completely random environment to show off the engine.

your probrably more right than you know. thats exactly what they want the forum jockies to take away from that cherry picked screen shots.

the real question is could it that up for the whole game without recycling.

    meh

multiplayer in gears 2 killed it for me, and the single player wasnt that great either

i doubt having a little better graphics will make me want to play the next one a lot

Yeah i know, the chainsaw wasn't the chainsaw anymore in gears 2. Just changes they made that didn't appease me that made it not feel like gears 2. I though did thoroughly enjoy the single player. As long as they don't change Cole Train then I'll still play gears 3. Cole Train needs his own chapter, dlc, or game. He is like the Joker who carried everyone mediocrity in the dark knight.

    Gears of War 3

First Gears Of War 3 Gameplay Details

Gears Of War 3 will shake up the franchise's acclaimed cover system and feature underwater missions for the first time, Edge can reveal.

Developer Epic Games is set to evolve the combat by introducing new Locust foes with tentacle-like appendages which are capable of extending to player cover spots.

Meanwhile, the COG members of Delta Squad will be equipped with explosives that can travel beneath the ground to take out enemy cover positions, our US publishing source told us.

While the first two Gears games offered mobile cover in the form of objects like burnt out cars that could be pushed around, Gears Of War 3 will feature a heavy duty mech suit the COGs can utilise both for protection and to wreak havoc.

All of these new features will be present in the singleplayer campaign and multiplayer modes, Edge understands.

We were also informed that the game will be set during the summer and introduce a number of new environments to the series, including underwater locations. The end of the last title saw the COGs sink mankind’s last city, Jacinto, and flood the Hollow in order to take out the Locust Horde beneath the surface.

Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 demo at GDC in March showed off jungle or foliage-heavy areas, which could also make an appearance in Gears Of War 3 - Epic previously used GDC 2008 to debut Unreal Engine upgrades that went on to show up in Gears 2.

Gears Of War: Jacinto's Remnant, a novel written in conjunction with Epic, continues the Gears story from the conclusion of the second game. One story strand focuses on the island of Vectes, a former COG naval base sporting fertile lowlands, forests and a river. This setting could be ideal to show off the developer’s new Unreal Engine features were it to show up in Gears Of War 3.

Gears Of War 3 has yet to be officially announced. However, Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski is set to reveal a new game on Monday’s episode of US talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and it could be on the agenda. He was originally set to appear on tonight’s show - the same day we predicted Gears Of War 3 would officially be unveiled – but said that the change in schedule would allow Epic “to take a couple more days to polish” its game.
    Sounds pretty cool

What good can do 3 or 4 days in polish of a huge game based on an established engine?!? I guess NONE^^

Anyways... with the recent comments of Mark Rein and Cliff Bleszinsky, it wouldn't surprise me to see this game coming to PS3 too. I'd welcome it (played the first on PC), but I can live without it.

Personally i hope they dont go the all out action route again like the second Game. In the first game i enjoyed those well thought out levels with the darkness and the more puzzle like bosses. I hope thats what they mean by the underwater and drilling sections of the game.

im not looking forward to the underwater level(s). In Bioshock 2, it was mainly done to show off the new underwater engine and felt it wasn't done tastefully. I figure this is going to be the same.

Hope for the best but I was utterly let down by gears 2 multiplayer.

Got to wait for the gears 2 to come to pc or ps3 i imagine before the third gets ported. It would be weird if they threw gears 3 without 2 but who knows.

Well, it does happen with other games too. It is unlikely though.

Though it appears those gameplay details are just rumors for now. I don't know how they would do an underwater level.

They could do something like having to find a locust fortress hidden under that yellow/green stuff (can't remember what it's called).
