I immediately thought about PSP, for some reason.

I'd think they'd announce a new PSP at E3 rather than around GDC.

Maybe it's the name for the Arc? But it doesn't make sense dedicating websites to it. It has to be a game. It doesn't make sense if it was an app or new service since it would automatically be part of PSN and not have its own websites.

I thought about PSP, then I thought it may be the upcoming 4000 model, but it can't be because they didn't call it PSP.

What is Sony's new sequel announcement today? GTTV says it is the first unveiling of the game.

Possible. Wouldn't it then be called PSN+ and not just Playstation+?

They could have shortened it for the sake of simplicity.

PS2 is ten years old today! GDC BC announcement?

edit: why don't people make connections. this is posted in the rumours thread

Threatened by Apple Inc.'s growing stable of portable devices, Sony Corp. is developing a new lineup of handheld products, including a smart phone capable of downloading and playing PlayStation games, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Japanese electronics giant also has a project under way to develop a portable device that blurs distinctions among a netbook, an e-reader and a PlayStation Portable, or PSP. The device is designed to compete against multifunction products such as Apple's coming iPad tablet, these people said.

Not BC, but maybe PS2 games finally hitting PSN? but will that justify calling it with a different name?
