Medal of Honor - Fall 2010

New Medal Of Honor Revealed As "The Most Authentic Modern War Experience"

Electronic Arts has officially announced the reinvention of its first-person shooter war game Medal of Honor, bringing the franchise into the modern age and deploying it to Afghanistan, promising "the most authentic modern war experience" for fall 2010.

That amply bearded, box-art starring soldier is a Tier 1 Operator, "a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle," according to EA's announcement. The new Medal of Honor—known simply as Medal of Honor—will give gamers a chance to "step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to a new enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile battlefield conditions of present day Afghanistan."

Just like that year-old rumor said.

The all-new Medal Of Honor is currently in development at EA Los Angeles and DICE, responsible for the game's single-player and multiplayer components, respectively.

Medal Of Honor will make its video debut at the Spike TV VGAs on December 12 and hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC next year. Until then, the game's official web site should keep you busy.

I hope DICE are making this! Looks like a 18 rated game also. If its already been rated it must be far along.

  2. Oversaturation of shooters. It's getting pretty ridiculous.

I was just going to post this. You beat me by two minutes. ;p

EA and DICE behind it, plus a modern setting? I am all eyes and ears for this one. DICE is a great dev and EA has fantastic net-code. This has win written all over it. I hope it delivers.

  4. Sales/ hype wise, nothing is going to overtake MW2 (which is waht they are going after it looks like)
But gameplay/ features wise.....The field is WIIIIIIIIIIIDE open and is easy to cover, me thinks.

    DICE..Me like.

It was onlya matter of time before they hopped on the band wagon also.

  6. Nice to see Medal of Honor showing some life after Call of Duty beat the series dead.
"A-I-D-A. Attention, Interest, Decision, Action. Attention - Do I have your attention? Interest - Are you interested? I know you are, because it's fuck or walk. You close or you hit the bricks. ^ Dead Space would heartily disagree with that statement

You don't eat pigs, we don't eat pigs,
It seems it's been that way forever.
So if you don't eat pigs and we don't eat pigs,
Why not not eat pigs together?

Dead Space, Mass Effect, Mirrors Edge, Dragon Age, Bad Company and FIFA are all AAA in my book. Infact what has anyone else besides EA and Sony done this gen? All i see from those two publishers are tons on new IP's every year. All i see from the rest is sequels.

  10. I think EA hate is left over from the mid 90s or whenever everyone hated EA.....And people are still on that outdated bandwagon and forgot to jump off.

I remember hating EA ages ago but honestly can't remember why (something about endless sequels?...seems a petty reason), now I don't care either way but they do stand out indeed, in a good way, so all props to them.

Anyway *waits for Medal Of Honour news*

Hating EA is like sooo last century, we hate Activision now.

So now that Medal of Honor is changing to a more modern setting, isn't it just going to be Bad Company?

  13. Attention everyone: EA is cool now. They stopped acting like dicks (for the most part) like halfway through the PS2 generation. They're at the very least trying to be cool now. Activision is the new Reich these days.

There's a special kind of nerd though, who thinks computers will overtake mankind in thirty years, changing humanity in ways incomprehensible to us now, ignoring the third of the world without electricity. It gives spiritual significance to technology developed primarily for entertainment and warfare and gives nerds something to obsess over that isn't the crushing vacuousness of their lives.

but but but... It's Activision, just buy it

  15. When the Prez/CEO of Activision openly says he intends to take all the fun out of making video games and only invest in properties with yearly sequel potential, you know something is wrong.

  19. Basically. Even if it's great it wreaks of 'me too complex.'

nah, EA still sucks. NFS being a prime example. Burnout peaked with the second one. Bad Company had EA's typically terrible drama.
But especially anytime EA says "realistic", run for the hiils. They take realism and then try to make it mean something with cliche characters and overblown drama. It's just like a bad movie.
