Acclaim Loses MLB and Turok

<P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">Acclaim has been on an uphill struggle for quite a while. They've been blamed for making mediocre games and the sales are showing it.&nbsp;Today we learned that Acclaim lost its rights to Turok and MLB-licensed videogames. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">Losing the MLB license will drastically affect their All-Star Baseball series. It pretty much means Acclaim won't be able to use anything MLB related. Acclaim has been pretty quiet about Turok ever since we last saw him two years ago. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

Im concerned on who they lost turok to...they havent put out a good turok game since rage wars...(3 wasnt bad but rage wars was alot better).

acclaim has been slacking for far too long along with kliq i have begun to despise them and think lowly of games made by them. They gave themselves a bad name with the number of consecutive low quality games released. No one but themselves are to fault for the loss of these two licenses, and the once great name acclaim has been reduced to nil. Well, close to nil.

Yeah EA has actually been doing some really nice things lately. Atleast EA makes there games for all 3 consoles. The Turok for the GC is the absolute worste ever. They were selling it for $10 Canadian everywhere after it was pretty much released. Now they give it away when you buy a console.

I didn't like any of the turok games, except maybe the mulitplayer in 2. The solo missions were damn near impossible without a guide or walkthrough, and that just defeats the purpose of playing. I hope someone makes Turok better. I bet Retro would do a good job...

Who knew, indeed? Acclaim's stock was never very good when you think about it. Midway, at the very least, had Mortal Kombat for a while.

- Legends of Wrestling
- NBA Jam
- Re-volt

From what I hear, Turok went to From Software, and the MLB liscense doesn't go anywhere, as other companies have it (Sega, EA, Microsoft, Sony, Midway, etc.)
