Thread: Too much retro?

1. Too much retro?

We have seen and keep hearing of SNES ports to the GBA. But do we want that. Sure the nostalgia fans love it. Hell I love it! But is can only go so far. I would like to see lots of original titles on the GBA. Much more than SNES ports.
Golden Sun is a great game and I have played it to death. Both Mario games are very good but....old.

Yea thats my 2 cents

I dunno, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Wario Land 4, Metroid IV, Advanced Wars, CaslteVania: COTM, CastleVania: WNC, MegaMan Battle Network 1,2, Megaman Zero, Shining Soul, and Sonic Advanced are enough original games to keep me happy

dude, I even thought of a design for a portable super scope. I'm always one step ahead.

neway, more on topic, I love the old retro games and so do my friends. We all agree that the super famicom was one of nintendo's greatest creations, and we still do to this very day.

:gg

Two words: Easy money.

11. It WAS the best. Super Famicom (or SNES to the west, hehe that rymes) was the best. Chrono Trigger, Mario series, Final Fantasy III...all classics.

But dont we want MORE classics?! The possiblity is there. I wanna see a game so brilliant on the GBA that it deserves its 3d version on the GCN.

Also out of all the games, very good ones too, that Inaba listed, only 4 were original. Thats out of 11. Originality would be fresh.

Fire Emblem - Not a port
Golden Sun - Not a port
Wario Land 4 - Not a port
Metroid IV - Not a port
Advanced Wars - Not a port
CaslteVania: COTM - Not a port
CastleVania: WNC - Not a port
MegaMan BN 1,2 - Not ports
Megaman Zero - Not a port
Shining Soul - Not a port
Sonic Advanced - Not a port.

How do you figure 4 of those are original? None of these games are ports. If you saying a Sequel isn't an original game, then how can FFIII (VIj), Mario, Zelda, etc be considered "original" classics? And who the hell wants 3D versions?

2D GAMING 4EVER!!

13. There's nothing wrong with reliving the past. As a matter of fact they should release a smash pack for the Gamecube with improvements......but I doubt it.....haha....

Rumors based out of IGN claim that Nintendo is releasing all the classic Zelda games on 1 disc. This just may be the Zelda Adventure stated on the main page....

But only 4 were not sequals or new franchises

HEnce the word NOT

huh? Think that needs an edit because i can't understand what it means. None were ports, but only 4 were not Sequels or new Franchises? Um, if its not a port, a squeal, or a new franchise... what ARE they???

Anywho: FFIII was the 6th game in the series. Mario World was the 4th game in the series. Zelda was the 3rd game in the series. If these games can be considered "original" SNES game Classics, and they were sequels, how comes GBA sequels can't be considered "original"?

None of them were ports, which is what you were talking about to begin with.
