Well you can't expect everybody to like FPS. To tell you the truth I would rather have a graphic change like Zelda than a gameplay change like Metroid. But its a good thing the developers are developers from games such as Doom games, Quake games, Turok games, etc.

I'm neither, I'm an all around gamer and a heterosexual

My, you are a nutty retard j/k really, thats rather silly [Edit by me, see below]

Now tell me would you like to play a sidescrolling with the GC's capability, if you don't then you should just buy a GBA.

I WOULD LOVE to play a side scrolling Metroid with GC's capability!!!!!!!! And I have a GBA thank you Waiting patiently for MegaMan Network and Metroid IV!

My, you are a nutty retard j/k really, thats rather silly, FPS is okay but the PC handles them a lot better. The only FPS i like on consoles are the ones developed by Rare.

Eh I dont like the way i wrote this, and sorry for calling you a nutty retard.. but it does sound funny to say! Come one, say it! Nutty retard! LOL hehe

    ...

    Okay...

FPS "are best on next gen systems" is false, because it really depends on WHERE the FPS originated.

FPS that originate on PCs shouldn't stray to consoles, because they're usually just medium to low quality ports. Also you miss out on stuff like expansion packs and MODs. Their PC counter parts are also always an evolving beast, with patches and updates being released around the clock. (an advantage and a disadvange at the same time though)

FPS that are developed on a console are a different story, they feel "whole" because they were MEANT for the console. This is were Metroid gets a Plus in the FPS category. Its not a PC port, but an original game meant for console play. It also gets a Plus in my book for focusing on Single player, instead of the same ol' "Forget the game, just put in multiplayer" trend that all FPS have now.

My favorite FPS on a console have been developed by Rare. Retro so far remains unproven as a developer. Its very wild cardish to tell if they'll do a good job or not on this project. I wish them the best of luck because they are put in an incredibly unconfortable position. But this also effects my view on this issue, because they have no experience with the series.

Also personally I dont care too too much for FPS, its just a personal opinion.

It might be Great, it might be Trash. I'm not leaning either way, because honestly I'm more excited about Metroid IV then Prime. I'll rent Prime and if Retro does their job, I'll then buy it. If they dont, then at least I can say I won't be disapointed, and go back go my Metroid IV (Which hopefully will kick arse)

    In conclusion...

Not handled by Nintendo or Shigeru
Not handled by somebody whos made a game at all before
    Its a FPS
    Its 3D

All personal opinion and doesn't mean that the game will not be good. Just reasons why me, myself, and I do not look forward to Metroid Prime

    See You Next Mission

  4. >Not handled by Nintendo or Shigeru
So, he is a genius; But not at FPS. He is "observing the project, in fact...he's the one that told them to do it in FP view.

    >Not handled by somebody whos made a game at all before
Your wrong, the team (retro) is constucted of many (23 total) employees that have worked on previous titles...such as Half-Life, Quake, and Marathon.

    >Its a FPS
This is a totally biased statement, not to mention your oppinion.

    >Its 3D
Yes! I hated games such as Mario 64, Jet Force Gemini, Zelda, Shadows of the empire...etc. (this is an example of 3-D, not nintendo's doing).

  5. #25
Yes Shigeru Miyamoto has never handled a FPS so he can't possibly help make a Metroid game! And again, RETRO has NEVER made a game. Ive already stated this. I've also said this was ALL MY OPINION but obviously you dont read my posts. YOUR comments are biased also because YOU LIKE FPS. Putting 2D games in 3D rarily turns out good, with a few execption of Shigeru Miyamoto titles (JFG was never a 2D game Moron)

    So in conclusion..

    You are a moron

    You dont read my posts

    These are my Opinions

Sombody originally posted "Why would someone not like Metroid" or something like that. The only reason I posted all this was to explain why i'm not excited about it, not the change someones opinion about it.

Once again, not saying it will be bad. Just saying i'm not excited about it

Also I'm not a "Homosexual PS2" fan, for those of you who can't comprehend that ONE GAME doesn't = the whole system. Theres a ton of GameCubes I want, Capcom just added a whole series of them

    Heterosexual All-Around-Game-Fan I Am!!!

  6. Exactly

everyone has the right to their own opinion, iniba should be the target of hate because his opinions differ

  7. #27
I hope that was a typo and you didn't really mean "Inaba should be a target of hate because his opinions differ"

Why can't we all just get along??

    It's a G4 Mac. Big throw-an-Xbox-at-me deal.

  9. 1.Your right, Myamoto hasn't handled a FPS before, why did you say thats one of your bad "in conclusion" things?

2.And yes! I don't read your posts, this is why I respond to them.

3.Who said anything about it having to be a 2-D game at one time?

4.And I did make that post, but if you read everyone elses posts, you would see that I was only being a smartass.

I don't know for sure but Nintendo has published bot Goldeneye and Perfect Dark so Shigeru Miyamoto probably did do somethings with the the FPS games.

Retro has developers that have made FPS in the past. Turok, Doom, Quake, etc

    To DragulongX

Nintendo had no hand in that, Rare made Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. Shigeru did not fly to Europe just to work on those

Retro has developers that have made FPS in the past. Turok, Doom, Quake, etc

Yeah, I said this before but NOBODY listens to THAT part. Retro THEMSELVES have not made any game at all yet. Not to mention never handling a Metroid title.

    To Retard .. er Reboot

1.Your right, Myamoto hasn't handled a FPS before, why did you say thats one of your bad "in conclusion" things?

But hes helped make METROID games before, its a thing thats called a sarcastic remark, but you have to have SOME intelligence to understand

2.And yes! I don't read your posts, this is why I respond to them.

You dont ever read them though, you've even said that yourself!

3.Who said anything about it having to be a 2-D game at one time?

Well last I recalled I did. I was talking about how 2D games dont always turn out good in 3D

4.And I did make that post, but if you read everyone elses posts, you would see that I was only being a smartass.

Oh I know your a smartass. But your more so a dumbass

Can we stop? I was explaining MY opinion on the subject and I get an arguement

  12. Actually Inaba, GUMPEI YOKOI made ALL the metroid titles. Miyamoto had absolutly nothing to do with it.

  13. #33
If Memory serves me correctly his name was in the credits of Metroid II and Super Metroid, no it wasn't his idea this time, but he helped make them

  14. Well Inaba, I just went and beat the game (again); Miyamoto isn't mentioned in the credits of Super Metroid, though he might have had something to do with Metroid II:Return of Samus (I'm not going to go beat that game real quick).

  15. #35
Damn... am I going to have to go and beat Super Metroid all over again to prove you wrong.. oh wait that will be freaki'n fun!!

I dunno could of sworn he was like Vice Executive Producer or something like that, not the head boss but up there.

And I know he was on the credits of Zelda : LttP and so I'm right! hah hah hah.... hah....

  16. I guess he could have been in there, but I looked for him...and didn't see him. And youre wrong, he had nothing to do with any Zelda game (except the ones on the CD-i) (sarcasm)
